Ziebart Undercoating/Rust Protection - Is it worth it?

This is my first post as a new member to this forum. I just purchased a new 2010 4Runner Limited. I live in Western PA and we get a fair amount of snow and they like to use salt on the roads here. Is it worth the $399 to get the undercoating and rust protection done from Ziebart (they have a special right now)?

Does anyone have any comments or experience with Ziebart? Thanks!

In the past, I would have said it not only wasn't worth it, but it also might clog up the drain holes and thus promote rust, rather than prevent it.

But then I was under my '03 4Runner in August and saw all the rust on my frame. It's pretty ugly.

So now I don't know what to recommend.

I think the Ziebart would be great for a new vehicle, and then when the rust inevitably appears after a few years, switch to a wet application such as Rust Check.

I ended up going with the dealer protection. It was $799, twice as much as Ziebert. However, they do:
- undercoating/rusting protection (lifetime warranty) if something rusts out, they replace it for free
- paint protection (5 yr warranty) - covers rock chips and swirls
- and floor mat/upholstry guard..

thought it was worth it since it's warrantied and I only have to do it once.
