I stuffed a interstate/Les Schwab AGM MT5-49/H8 in. The Schwab one is like 145.00 bucks compared to the 280.00 interstate suggest as retail.
It is big and heavy but fit fine with stock cables.

I'm headed to costco on Monday to see what batteries they have. If they don't have a good deal I'll probably go with an autocraft from advance auto and use a 30% coupon code. Undecided on autocraft gold 24f vs platinum agm. Are agm batteries worth the extra $50 - $60?
Something worries me about a product you can get for 30% off.
Is the coupon for the battery specifically or any product?

I've had the Duralast Gold also. I'm on my second in <15 months. I was getting 15-18 months out of the MAXX. They're now pro-rated.
I've decided to try the Advance Auto brand in my '96.

Avoid Autozone batteries. They don't last long.
Believe me, I have a NAPA battery in my truck and it turned 8 years on March and still works like brand new! Holds the charge for 2 weeks and starts right out.
Have you tried TOYOTA battery from the dealer?

To be honest, I never thought about purchasing an OEM battery. As far as NAPA batteries go, do you know off hand if they are the same battery they were in the past? I know some battery manufactures changed things up in one way or another.
I purchased the AA battery for my '96 after reading numerous threads on BITOG and being disappointed with other brands.

The Toyota dealer batteries are NOT OEM. Those were Panasonics made in Japan and they were bulletproof. I got over seven years on mine and some got even more. Sadly, just not available here.
The Toyota TrueStart line sold here is reputedly a good battery. Truestart batteries are made by Johnson Controls (makers of Diehards, Duralast, Energizer, Everstart, Motorcraft, and Pep Boys Prostart, among
others).

Hear good things about the TrueStart, mine came with one but it was smaller, ~600 CCAs. Switched to Interstate MTP 24F. Bulletproof.

I just replaced my battery with a Costco Interstate one. I was debating between the AutoZone vs Costco one, but both have the same ratings and it looks like both are made by Johnson Controls. The Costco one had a slightly longer warranty and was still cheaper than AutoZone one after their 30% off coupon, so I ended up just getting the Costco Interstate battery.
You can't generalize your experience though. I've had duralast good for 5 years, unless you consider that short.

I started looking at dual batteries, I know I could make them fit, but it gets really expensive once you figure in the price of two batteries and the isolator system. So that killed that idea.
So I’m stuck with one battery, and I wanted something that I could exchange locally if there was another issue. That pretty much left the Duralast AGM line through AutoZone. I looked through their selection comparing specifications on each model until I said screw it, I’m getting the biggest battery they make and stock in my local store!
So I bought a Duralast Platinum AGM H8, or group 49, and as you would imagine the numbers are better than the Yellow Top.
