Limited Edition Mod Thread

I have a 2018 Limited and I could swear I saw the option of changing C / F temp units in the display. I'll check when I go to lunch today.

you can for the dash display but not on the climate control - nothing in the manual either. thinking must be done by the dealer?

I was mistaken - definitely no option for temperature units.

Thanks for looking! Yes thats the issue. Its a minor issue but still annoying after spending so much money on a vehicle. Everything else is solid though. The dash is in Miles, Outside Temp is in Fahrenheit, etc. But Climate control temp is in Celsius. Will find more out at the dealer tomorrow.

What leveling kit did you have? And what toytec did you go with?
Toytec TAC2 - 2" Level - front only

When the XREAS was going out, I replaced that with the Toytec Boss suspension. I did the 700 lb front coils and Superflex HD rear coils. I also added the SPC UCA's.

I really like what you've done to your "Limited", specifically the Bumper/Grill improvement. I was led to believe it was not possible to switch front out from Limited to anything else due to design of the limited bumper frame.
1. What type of bumper shell and grill is that?
2. Have you lost any function from original bumper proximity/parking sensors?
3. Ballpark pricing on the entirety on the front conversion?

Thanks

I know where I live in the NE we get pretty bad road salt and chemicals during the winter. I know a few people with those boards (on other vehicles) that have issues after a few years with them locking up. Especially in deep snow.

Our 14 LE has the chrome boards and with the rocker panel you only have maybe 2-3 inches to put your toes on and get into the truck. On my 18 LE, I removed the LE rockers and put the trail rockers with the little molding front cap and new mud flaps on with the trail running boards. Much nicer step into the truck and I like how the black offset on the silver truck.

Did the rocker panels come pre-finished in black?

Current state

Here is the current way my Limited is setting... including a fab/mod roof rack and spare tire carrier.

Hey Guys,
What is everyone changing to from the stock tires on the 20in Limited Rims?
Wouldn't mind beefing up a little as long as it does not hurt mpg too much.

Show me your pics!
Thanks!

Michelin LTX M/S2 P275/55R20 111H On mine really like them. They are a bit fat looking on the skinny rim, 0.5” too wide if I remember correctly...

Looks great BIGpharma. I have a similar setup in black and have been waiting to pull the trigger on a spacer lift. Any noticeable ride difference? And what made you pick between Toytec and daystar

Thank you,

No difference in ride quality, I had no concrete reason for choosing Toytec just wanted to try it out. I have had a daystar kit on my 05 for 4 years now with no problems. The spacer kits are a must have on these rigs, I love the way they change the entire look of the vehicle!!

bowhun2r,

I love what you have done with your LE & the Trail running boards. I sent you a PM with a question regarding the conversion.

Yotatrail12

Thanks again.

Forgot to say you will have to remove the pink clip before putting on the Trail cap.

New member/owner. Traded my 2011 FJ TT for the 2019 Nightshade. Read through this entire thread and learned a ton. Have the Gobi Stealth rack on order (did you guys really wait that long to get them??) Also wanting to level out the front and put some larger AT tires on the dubs. Thinking of going with the Toytec spacer as I am liking the ride with XREAS. I'm on the fence between KO's and Duratracs. Had both on my FJ, and loved the Duratracs, but thinking they might be over-kill for the new mall runner.

Yours would look great with a little bit of a lift. What parts did you use for the bumper conversion?
