A stock SR5 is very capable off roading

Ditto, I went with the SR5P because it had all the upgraded bells and whistles that I wanted and no chrome trim or full time AWD like the limited. I knew I would be building the truck how I wanted so my last 2 trucks have been SR5's because I could add all the features I wanted.

I chose an SR5 for the most important reason in MY life...
it was cheaper...i bought it with 20K miles on it, as a former rental/test vehicle for a Yota Dealership, which then sold it with full warranty and revamp...so i got a $34-37K vehicle for $28K....

as far as trim-hate...meh...what is that about?...i thought that was isolated towards the TRD Pro guys...they want to flaunt that they have more money then the rest of us...let em...its not like we are trying to make our trucks look like theirs

I had a Jeep Wrangler and they were the nicest community ever. Just like you said they all wave at each other. Most 4Runner owners don't wave!

The wave started to diminish in the Jeep world with the JKU...
I remember one time right after I got my first Jeep, the wife and I were out cruising some country roads and a girl in a TJ was so excited to wave she almost jumped out of her Jeep! She was rolling no doors and top down... she stuck an arm and a leg out when she waved, and had the biggest smile on her face. That was the most enthusiastic, craziest wave I've ever received, and was an unforgettable introduction to the "Jeep wave".

Couldn't agree more with Jeep and feel free to add the Porsche community to the comment as well- Forums are friendly and fellow drivers ALL wave as well. The moderators on both of those forums toss trolls pretty quick. I guess Im a little surprised amongst the hatred between trim levels on this site? - Didn't expect that to be honest.
"We" chose the limited over the other models for the leather and moon roof . Ok, to be honest, my wife told me I was getting the limited over the TRD. That damn rack wouldn't fit in the garage! Note: When we replace the garage doors in the next year or so we will be raising the height getting into the garage. Problem solved. Until then I will be driving a Limited which I have absolutely zero complaints about. You know it could be worse than my current trim level- I could be driving a Camry! :tongue1:

To bring this topic back around, how many people have used their Runner to the extent as the guys did in the video? Be honest.
In my experience, only a handful of people do. Period. This included the multiple Jeep owners I’m friends with. I have to twist their arms just to go out on trails that won’t damage their Jeep at all. Sure, they’ve got the lifts and 35” MTs, but they won’t go off pavement.
I’m happy to see the capabilities of a stock SR5. Imagine just throwing proper tires on there. That should be a marketing video for Toyota.

other than that deep swift water crossing it all looks like pretty intro level stock friendly off-roading to me, the kind of thing anyone would do in a basic 4WD class or easy OHV trail.

Its a free country, buy an SR5, a Pro, a Trail or a Limited who cares. Go out and have fun with it. I take my decidedly inferior Limited off roading while hunting.. Yes I have stood up and shot out the sunroof...
I say bring whatever you got to the trail. If your a decent person beers on me..whatever you drive. The community is more than just one *******.
