The T4R in the video is a 2017 model year according to the comments. But the weird thing I noticed is it still had 2010-2013 gauges.

Yeah, ATRAC is the big one, followed by the locker. Crawl control and multi-terrain are just enhancements to ATRAC. They don't buy you much at all over skillful driving. I estimate ATRAC gets you 90% of the performance of a locker compared to open diffs - maybe more since it works on both ends. You could install a front locker but running a locked front has major drawbacks. In really extreme situations though it does make a big difference - but only in extreme situations.
That statement just shows you don't know jack about it. The only drawback of the limiteds is the body trim that reduces ground clearance some. They still have a low range, they still have ATRAC and you can lock the center diff. Once you have it locked and in low range it's the same as any other 5th gen. But with a diff in the middle (AWD) vs a transfer case, they're going to handle better on-road in the snow. Fact.

My only gripe with the Limited is the looks and lack of clearance created by all the low hanging valances (which obviously can be removed). The interior with auto climate control would also be nice. For driving around town on streets and highways with patchy snow and ice, the awd feature would be a huge bonus. Without that feature it is like going back in time to my old '81 Toyota 4X4 PU or '94 Isuzu Trooper, shifting in an out of 4Hi as needed.
The price difference between SR5P and TRD ORP was not that significant when I bought mine last summer. It was pretty much the same price for my ORP as it would have have been for the SR5P with a sunroof. I chose the locker since I was planning to mount stuff on the roof anyway. I do have to sheepishly admit, however, that I was also motivated just a little by the fact that 3 of my friends drive SR5s and I sort of wanted to one-up them a bit...

I didn't really see anything in that video that was all that impressive for a 4Runner, other than that river crossing. Dude's lucky he didn't get swept away. Stupid to drive into water that deep moving that fast.

At this point I really think they are just joking around. We all drive 4Runners, not Range Rovers, Land Cruisers or G-Classes. If people are really having superiority complexes at this level......."wow" is all I got to say :lmao:
