Nice to see you active again bro. I work tues-sat probably forever so I wouldn’t be able to swing this short of notice. We bought a little travel trailer last year so most of my paid-time-off is spent taking that out with the family.

Sucks too. That trail is on my wants list.

I should be somewhere on the North side of the Grand Canyon then, slowly working towards Moab via as many off road trails as possible. Will be looking to get out after returning.

Thanks. Hoping to keep it up.
Know it’s short notice for a holiday weekend so no worries. I’m sure a few Sunday runs can be arranged. What’s on your list? (For the rare occasion you’ll be able to break away from the family.)

Sounds like an awesome trip!
Hit up the forum when you’re back. Slick Rock is high on my list and I am really hoping to get my 1st Gen across it this summer at least once.

Yeah it doesn’t help that I also just took off for 4 days to visit my uncle in Nevada. Sort of burned up a lot of the family-free time for a little. And I’m always pushing to have them join but there’s like zero interest.

Anyway on the list in no particular order
Sourgrass
Sierra buttes lookout
Niagra Rim
Barker Pass
Gold lake
Long Canyon

And I wanted to try slick rock, but I think that’s a little too tough for what I’m equipped with.

A lot of these involve HEFTY drives and research for gas stations. They start being out in the boonies.

I also recommend poker flat. That I did a couple years back solo. Very very good trail. Probably my favorite overall.

Yeah I hear you - my family hasn’t been to in to it either. You got some good ones on your list. Done a couple and want to do others. Hoping against hope this summer won’t be ruined by fires and can get a couple more checked off list.

The Sierra Buttes/Lakes Basin area is my absolute favorite area to camp. There's tent sites, horse trailer sites and 4x4 sites. The buttes are absolutely spectacular, I love spending time at Lower Sardine Lake right below them. Some of the most beautiful scenery in CA. The Sierra Buttes lookout can get busy though. We were hiking part of it and there was a fair amount of vehicle going up - it's steep and hard to pass. If you go, go early to avoid traffic jams.

Once my baby gets a bit older and would actually let us sleep in a tent we hope to go back. Endless 4x4 and hiking opportunities out there. Decent fishing too.

Damn me for not checking in, looks like we're live, which makes sense since the snow is pretty much gone. I'll pay more attention, I still need my sliders to get to me, I'm just on a lift and tires.. at least I got a mount chop and 285s this time.

Few images of new 4runner (it's the same ****ing thing just 2 years younger) I even got into KDSS, not so smart :hurt:

No worries.

Welp just got UPS email that my sliders are on the way and should be here before the weekend.

If i'm careful, will I bash my back bumper on those rocks? I can get a hitch slider, I'm more worried about the sides.

Excellent!
You’ve seen my 4th Gen …. I haven’t done anything to my rear bumper on this trail. I have a tow hitch and tail pipe down low (no hitch slider) and don’t recall ever touching them on this trail. At least up to the creek crossing I think you’re likely fine with lift, tires and sliders.
Hope to see you out there.
