The forestry closures were a real bummer. I had to cancel some hiking trips as well.
Posting here too …. I plan on running Sourgrass trail (off HWY 4 past Arnold) on Sat. 5/29. Anyone interested in joining me? @%1; @%1; @%1; @%1;@%1;

I should be somewhere on the North side of the Grand Canyon then, slowly working towards Moab via as many off road trails as possible. Will be looking to get out after returning.Posting here too …. Nice to see you active again bro. I work tues-sat probably forever so I wouldn’t be able to swing this short of notice. We bought a little travel trailer last year so most of my paid-time-off is spent taking that out with the family.
Sucks too. That trail is on my wants list.

Thanks. Hoping to keep it up.
Know it’s short notice for a holiday weekend so no worries. I’m sure a few Sunday runs can be arranged. What’s on your list? (For the rare occasion you’ll be able to break away from the family.)

Yeah it doesn’t help that I also just took off for 4 days to visit my uncle in Nevada. Sort of burned up a lot of the family-free time for a little. And I’m always pushing to have them join but there’s like zero interest.
Anyway on the list in no particular order
Sourgrass
Sierra buttes lookout
Niagra Rim
Barker Pass
Gold lake
Long Canyon
And I wanted to try slick rock, but I think that’s a little too tough for what I’m equipped with.
A lot of these involve HEFTY drives and research for gas stations. They start being out in the boonies.
I also recommend poker flat. That I did a couple years back solo. Very very good trail. Probably my favorite overall.

Details for the Sourgrass (aka Rattlesnake Creek Rd; aka Pine Needle Flat Rd; aka 05N02R) Trail Run
Saturday May 29th 2021
Meet at 9:00am at the Camp Connell General Store/Chevron (address: 4036 CA-4, Camp Connell, CA 95223)(38°18’35.3″N 120°16’38.4″W)
* Store hours can vary but they should be open by 8am
Depart for trail head at 9:20am
* Trail head is in the Sourgrass Day Use Area (38°19’19.2″N 120°12’56.2″W)
* We will air down at the trail head ~9:40am-10:00am
Goal is to start the trail at 10:00am and be off the trail by ~2:00pm depending on trail traffic and creek crossing fun.
Then, depending on interest/time, we can run the fire-roads back to Camp Connell/Dorrington & surrounding area, or head to the Lube Room and grab a late lunch and a beverage of choice and enjoy their new back patio/deck area.
Let me know if you're coming so we don't leave without you.

Wait, who's afraid of a little water at the crossing?!!

The Lube Room, I am ready to get back there, I love that place.
Damn me for not checking in, looks like we're live, which makes sense since the snow is pretty much gone. I'll pay more attention, I still need my sliders to get to me, I'm just on a lift and tires.. at least I got a mount chop and 285s this time.
Few images of new 4runner (it's the same ****ing thing just 2 years younger) I even got into KDSS, not so smart :hurt:

No worries.
Get those sliders / armor installed and we’ll figure something else out soon

Welp just got UPS email that my sliders are on the way and should be here before the weekend.
If i'm careful, will I bash my back bumper on those rocks? I can get a hitch slider, I'm more worried about the sides.
