Wich BFG's TA KO load rating is the good one ?

Hi,

I have a '98 4Runner SR5 V6, and I'm looking to buy a set of 265/75/16 BFG's All Terrain TA KO, but I can't find good indication on wich tire load rating to get.

I have the choice between those two :
LT265/75R16/E Sidewall: RWL Load Index: 123S
and
LT265/75R16 Sidewall: RWL Load Index: 8/D

I don't haul anything.

Since there is a good price diff. between the two (~10$ per tire), I don't want to pay for something overkill for my truck.

So, wich one is the good one, what tire load rating do you have ?

Load Range D is more than plenty for you and your 4runner. I would not get Load Range E unless i plan to tow a lot.

E would be a really harsh ride.

The last time I checked there was only the D and E rating for the KO in the 265/76/R16 size. Is this still the case?

i actually have that tire, but a different size 285/75, and it is load range e. it doesnt ride harsh at all. you just run a slightly lower psi.

i would recoment the E range if you offroad because the sidewall will be stronger

E range will also be a bit more costly and if you spend 90% on roads driving the D will be plenty enough and off road too.

My friend had E range on his Runner and simply didn't like how harsh it was over expansion joints on the highways and you felt every bump in the road even at slower speeds and changed to D after a week.

E is generally for trucks over 5000lbs,our 3rd gens barely tip the scales over 4000.

Thanks, I'll go with the D ones, since I don't offroad a lot...

And I'll use the saved money to buy some more beer and ribs !
