So summertime again and I'm looking to do some routine maintenance. One of the items on my to do list is a Transmission flush (at least a couple drain and fills). I have an 04 v8 w/ just over 200k on the clock. I think it was done at 115k because the previous owner bought it certified Toyota Pre-owned, but I'm not positive.
My question is, what is the best way to tell if the truck is level other than eyeballing it? I have a slopped driveway and want to make sure that I can get her level and check all fluids. Trans, TCase, Diffs, Etc.
I was thinking I could just throw an generic level on it somewhere, but wasn't sure where or what exactly needed to be level. Can is just on the floor of a door jam good enough? The roof? Cargo hatch? I know she has a bit of a front rake, do I need to elevate the front to account for that? Is the body level different than the frame? I'm sure I could temporarily attach a level to the frame.
Am I over thinking this?
