Hey guys , I am going to put a winch on my 4runner and was wondering how to mount one in a shrockworks bumper.

That's a good question, I plan to put one in my SW bumper in the future (whenever it finally gets made lol) and was wondering as well.

Its fairly easy and you don't need to take the bumper off. Just have a buddy hold the winch while you bolt it to the bumper. Or you can lay a1x4 across the bottom of the winch plate to support the winch while you feed the bolts through.
the motor will likely be on the passenger side of the bumper so the winch will feed through the bottom.

Winch lays on its side. So the feet are up against the face of the bumper. On the warn at least the dang little square nuts are a pain to hold in position while you get the bolt started. I had to use a screwdriver to hold the nut in place while getting the bolt started.

So the winch bolts through the four holes in the front of the bumper? How would you mount the fairlead afterwards?

Yes, you mount the feet of the winch through the front of the bumper. If you're using a roller fairlead, you can remove the rollers to feed the line through. If you are going with synthetic, you have to fully unspool the line, feed the the hawse fairlead the spool it back up.
Edit: unless your winch already has the hawse already installed on the line....then you just slide the the fairlead and the hook through the opening. No need to unspool. My bad, forgot this option

Fairlead shares two lower mounting bolts. I think I had to buy two longer grade eight bolts but I can't remember for sure.
