Thought I might start a thread on subs cause I'm only slightly obsessed. My head unit is a Pioneer AVH-P3300BT and I have 2 12" Alpine Type-R subwoofers that are run by a Kicker 750.1ZX amp. The rest of my speakers are just the JBL audios.

Looks cool. Question: what does that chip (purple colored) do on the HU? IIRC, those appear to be the same memory cards that go into cameras to hold photos....does it store pics for displaying on the HU or songs/videos, etc?

That looks like a nice head unit (browsing it on Crutchfield). Tons of utility. Have you been happy with it? It seems really reasonably priced for all of the features. The pandora front end is sweet, but sucks that it only works with iPhone and not Android. Also it'd be nice if the USB was on the rear instead of the front so that you could run a permanent iPod/iPhone connection cable under the console or something. Still, seems great for the money ($329 on Amazon). I'm definitely thinking that the stock HU in the 4Runner needs to go.

Here is my Alpine INA-W900 (dvd, nav, bluetooth, usb, ipod, backup camera) with urban runner trim piece. I had the Scosche trim pieces installed originally but didn't like the way the face stuck out. Also running a Kicker 1252xi under the passenger seat bridged mono to a 12" JL Audio sub in the back (wires under amp are to the Sirius sat radio). Don't know the sub model # - I've had the amp and sub for years (this is the 4th 4Runner I have had them in!)

Audio in general isn't, but the setup is. Different speaker sizes, locations, and mounting solutions.

Some Runners have High Lift jacks, ARM recovery gear or water just in case. You carry a tripod. Im kinda jealous, I have a 6in. tripod for my Cannon EOS
Rebel T3 and never have the ability to get those BA shots like you do. Kudos!

Hahaha thanks! I have water & recovery gear too, as well as hi lift I haven't figured out where to mount. I carry my tripod every where cuz ill forget it when I need if not and I got tired of it rattling around back there so I made the mount.

You could take great pics too you just gotta start taking a lot like me haha, most of the BA pics were taken within 3 hrs of where you live so I'm the jealous one!

Ill post pictures when i get home! but I have a problem with the wireing on mine! The wire(Attatchment) that goes into the sub itself has to be jiggled then taped into the perfect posisition for it to work.. however after about a week of that it falls off and only clicks on an bumps around sharp turns..which ends up scareing me! Does anyone know of ways to fix this? im sure this info is useless without pictures so ill post em when i get home!

Does the sub start to "kick" so to speak when you hit speed bumps, bumps in the road, etc. that make can be felt throughout the truck? When I say kick, I mean the sub begins to hit hit hit hit hit and not stop, even if you are playing music? The sub does not "hit" to the music as it is supposed to? If so, I experienced this same issue in my 3rd gen truck with my system. Could never figure out why it was happening either.

after i get my viair system installed [hopefully next week] ill be putting my old setup from my fj into the t4r

to me since i offroad a good bit its important to keep the amp up high my buddies kept there amps under the seats and one day we went mudding in deep water and it came into our vehicles and destroyed there amps sicne they where in the low spot and as for cargo space its nice to have but when ever i need the spot you can always move it for trips or hauling stuff but i listen to music everyday

Not to sure what you mean. If anyone knows how to post pictures directly from iPhone photo library I can post them. 2k laptop fried due to Dells faulty disc they sent me. :/ not sure what to do about that.. :redbrick:
