Bed and Storage Drawers

Finally got out the tools and built some storage drawers/sleeping platform. This will serve for now as a prototype but psyched to finally get something to test out. Been camping a couple times since I built it and it is great to have tons of storage and still plenty of usable space. I can fit all the climbing/ski gear I need plus about 1 weeks worth of food. Rooftop tent would be ideal but this'll work for now.

Unfortunately the added weight (esp with a 90lb dog in the back) does squat the rear end a bit so I'll need some extra lift. Thinking Bilstein 5100 to lift the front but not sure about the back. Bilstein B12s? Anyone have these in the rear?

Not today but this week....

Installed a Ram Mount for the phone in that Coin holder area on the Central Console. Sorry phone was dirty... I installed a small piece of metal on the back just to give it some rigidity. Had to shape that piece so in wont interfere with the Gear Shiftier

Drawers

I also worked on some drawers System for the trunk area.

Still need to build the two cubies on each sides, paint it and also install some latches

I also need to tie it down on the back... Front close to the seats is already tied down to the anchor point where the OEM one were installed

Well since there have already been a few posts on drawers... I too also wrapped up my drawer setup. Got some cooler tie downs so the big honker doesn't go flying all over the place. Sucker has flipped one me a couple times already.

Will mostly be using the drawer for as camp kitchen storage. Propane Coleman 2-burner stove fits nicely; and it's low enough where we'll still be able to sit up once I build a sleeper extension for the rear passenger seats... one day.

Also finally had some time to take more photos/update writeups for the build blog. Still backlogged...

Nice video. Why are your DRL’s / Hi Beams flickering? I can’t tell if they are flickering or if your hazards are on...?

I believe thats just his leds, mine do the same in pictures/videos but look solid when you look at them

Dobinsons lift is in. 3.5 in front 3 in the rear. I have dobinsons UCAs in too.

I dropped it off for an alignment at a 4x4 shop in Nashville. Guy said “we might not get it to factory specs but it will be close”. I mean thats BS right?? What did I get the UCAs for then? I was under the impression that the UCAs would allow factory specs on the alignment.

Exactly this. They don't look like that in real life. It is the frame rate of the camera with the flicker of the LED light that makes it look like that.

Only thing so far is bigger tires. It has taken me everywhere I have wanted to go. ATRAC is a beast!

Factory spec means nothing after a lift. If he's trying to get it to factory spec, you went to the wrong shop to begin with. 3.5" in a lot, too much if you ask me. Your angles will be very sharp, CV shafts likely won't last long. Either way, get then to get you in the 4* caster range.
