2024 Tacoma Wheels Hub Diameter fix?

So I'm looking at some new takeoff 17 inch 2024 Tacoma TRD wheels with tires here locally. My understanding is that the hud diameter is different and to use on a 3rd gen you either need and adaptor or to have the hubs machined out slightly. Anyone done either of these? What were the results...

    1999/2000 & 2001/02 console trim difference

So I have a 2000 limited, my brother has an 01 Limited. The center console trim (around the radio stack) is most decidedly different between the 2 years with the 01 trim being noticable darker. All the woodgrain pieces from 00 to 01 are a different color (darker in the 01) My 00 trim is...

    SRS code 64 Testing?

2000 3.4L - SRS code 64 showing. Looks like that means right side seat belt. Would like to test prior to shipping it off to myairbags to confirm that is the issue. Any method to test? If it is the issue I assume if I get the belt fixed and plug it back in to the system that will turn the...

Power Steering loud whine on startup

So my power steering has started screaming on cold startup. It dies down after about 30 secs to a minute depending on how cold it is outside. I checked the PS fluid level and when it started it was down a bit but not below what was acceptable. So my question is...I would assume the pump is...

Question on cam and crank seal 3.4L

I'm due for a timing belt, and at 210K I thought it might be prudent to do the cam and crank seals. I'm going to have the dealer do it. Before you flame me I have my reasons...1st is the dealer offers a lifetime warranty on work they do, so if these seals start to leak in a year...its on them...

    Mitchell Repair Guides

Random non 4Runner question - does anyone have access to the Mitchell repair guides? I'm working with my dealer to try and get a labor hrs time to replace just the rear valve cover gasket on my 2005 Highlander. AllData says 2.4 hrs to do both and 1.5 to do just one. I suggested 2.0 hrs to do...

Rear Hatch Door Lock Cylinder disappeared

So I went to put the key in to unlock the hatch and the key cylinder just pushed into the hatch. I'm sure someone else has dealt with this so I wanted to get some idea of what I'm going to be dealing with when I remove everything to start the repair. Thanks.

    Cat Converter Theft

Food for thought...the direct fit aftermarket units can be had for less than $300, the OEM is about $1500. I guess it would all come down to what your policy says about aftermarket parts. I wonder if any of the aftermarket parts come with a lifetime warranty?

    Cat Converter Theft

I haven't been a victim yet, but thefts are on the rise in my area. I wanted to get some thoughts from the forum just in case. 1. Has anyone installed any of the cat "protection" devices that are out there? Thoughts? Seems like, at least for some, they might be able to just cut out a bigger...

    Valve cover bolts loctite??

Getting ready for a valve cover gasket job. One thing I have noticed it that for the majority of guys they note that the valve cover bolts have worked loose over time, and by that I mean that when people check their bolts for the 1st time after the factory put them in the generally find some if...
