"What's your bottom dollar?"
So I've got a set of tires up for sale locally. They're good tires, and I've listed them at a very good price. Three people have contacted me wanting to know what's my bottom dollar. They haven't asked to come look at the tires, they haven't asked any more questions about their condition, they haven't even made an offer. Just "what's your bottom dollar".
Listen here, you morons. If you want to bargain with me for my tires, that's great. Come over and have a look at them. See if you can point out any flaws that I might not have seen, do a little research and show me where similar tires are selling for less, maybe offer a little less than I'm asking and wave some cash under my nose, there's lots of things you can do that might get me to come down on my price. "What's your bottom dollar" is not one of them. I will not bargain with myself on behalf of you, you lazy slackjaw mouthbreather. Put a little effort into it or don't f@#$ing bother me.

I think that is the absolute rudest question I've ever been asked. I won't even deal with a person who asks me that.

if you don't want to deal with those people just tell them "the price its listed at", that what I do and they go away.
Of course theres times I'm cleaning out the garage or moving and I want to get rid of stuff so I will deal with those people

OK, Fine. I'll give you $1 for them. Of course, shipping will be involved, so I'm going to send you a check for $10,000. I know that sounds like a lot, but they're going to Africa, so shipping will be expensive. Send me back whatever cash is not needed to pay the shipping cost. Oh, and you can send the tires too, if you want.

When I thought I was moving away from CO for good, instead for a short time, I tried to sell my Blizzak/Steelie combo--even put them up on this site (no one ever contacted me from T4R).
Craigslist retards were my favorite.
You have four tires mounted on wheels for sale, can you just sell me one?
No dipshit, how am I going to sell three tires?
Can you remove them from the wheels?
No. But you're free to do what you want once you buy them.
I live in [far from Colorado], can you cover shipping?
Do you know what four tires/wheels weighing close to 400 pounds cost to ship? You're willing to cover that?
Will these fit my 1998 Durango?
What do I look like, a Tire Rack representative?
Can you drive to [far corner of Colorado] so I can see them?
Great idea, I drive to butt****, CO, spend a fortune on gas, then have you not show up or look over the tires and tell me you changed your mind.
My 4Runner was stolen recently, those look like my tires.
Do you want to see the receipts, dumbass?

Agreed with everyone above. The people are always looking for a deal eventhough they are sometimes getting 40-70% off something that was minimally used. I always say as listed or a reasonable offer, but my bottom dollar was already listed.
Unless they are currently overseas from a rich oil family, but will send a check for more than asking to pay for shipping and then I accommodate them. . . .

To play devil's advocate...maybe the potential buyers are just looking for something cheap either as weekend tires, backup tires, or just some tires to put on their car before selling it.
But yeah, I hate those questions too.

I have a few things I might sell. But the thought of inviting the type of imbecile who will want to talk me down on some used whatever, over to my home to case the place, just doesn't appeal to me.
Incidentally, what is your bottom dollar???

I'm the total opposite. If there's a price and you want to take my time to come, that is the price. Don't waste my time meeting me somewhere to throw out a lowball offer. You can negotiate a price and then come out and look, from that point it's take it or leave it. (This doesn't apply to selling vehicles)

What the current spoiled, entitled, mentally retarded generation we've been raising ineptly for the past few decades fails to realize is that private sales are of used, "as is" goods, for a fixed price with no claimed warranty and rely on the good faith of both parties.
If someone wants to haggle, waffle, buy and return, whine, yelp, or twitter--they can go to Costco and try the patience of those poor people.
