I read just yesterday (BBC news online) than London now has a higher murder rate than NYC.

Rather surprising for a country with such stringent gun ownership laws.

Yeah, London never was on my list.

This is the same thing they are going for here, don't protect yourself or your property, call the police. Yeah right, by the time you get a response it's to late.
 
They want a world of victims who are helpless in every part of their lives and cry for help to their democratic socialist government who will fix all their problems.

Yes. The old guy is being arrested for stabbing the intruder in the chest. Intruder then died from wound after leaving the house.

I sure hope that the article left out some important information...because if the above is true, then that is a fukked up system in London!

Same is true here. Unless it was impossible or improbable for you to escape safely you're supposed to flee your own home and call the police instead of engaging the burglar. That one has never made sense to me.

On top of this, if the intruder/ attacker turns to flee, you can’t keep going after him because your life is no longer in danger like some how you can instantly turn everything off with everything that comes with a life and death struggle. Not too long ago I read a similar article about a girl in Germany who a guy was trying to rape and she used pepper spray on him, which from what was said in the article is banned in Germany, and the police arrested her. There are some really sad things going on in the world. It seems a lot of people’s only answer is ban something, like the links posted above to ban knifes, and it effects all walks of life. Some jerk off shoots somebody, ban guns, oops, now jerk off stabs somebody, ban knifes, jerk off drives across some place he shouldn’t, ban off roading. Pepper spray, what could you possibly need pepper spray for?

Which, depending on the circumstances, "impossible or improbable" seems like a pretty vague term.

Well, technically speaking, the London incident may have involved a screwdriver. The intruder apparently was attacking the homeowner with screwdriver...and it is not clear if the intruder’s chest wounds were from knife OR screwdriver.

So, it is my personal opinion that we NEED TO BAN SCREWDRIVERS!!!

We are looking at our future. Once they get rid of the 2A we won't be allowed to defend our selves in our own homes.
 
I was born in England... came here to the states and became a citizen, but I have absolutely no desire to go back. It sucks over there.

I carry a Benchmade everyday here... normal stuff. Knives on your person is the equivalent to being armed. All you hear on the radio is about knife crimes and stabbings.

Of course they don't have gun crimes, but ur absolutely more likley to get shanked than shot.

As far as that dude defending himself... that's complete bullshit. Hopefully he has enough money for a defense because cash is about the only thing you need to really keep you out the slammer. That goes same for the states in a home defense shooting. Using deadly force is not cheap.
