The test numbers I used was from comparison tests done first by Motor Trend in 2003 and the second by Car & Driver in 2005 (I listed it at the top of the tables).
The reason why I like using the comparison tests is that they test all the vehicles on the same surface, conditions, etc. This helps to minimize diffirences in conditions.
Besides every time you run a test there will be differences also there are slight differences between vehicles as well.
Sounds good that you guys are going for a test run, are you going to go for a 1/4 mile run? If so please run with spare, tools, ect in the vehicles and at least a half tank of gas. This will show more realistic results for everyday driving, rather than trying to take stuff out you drive with everyday.
