00 4r shifting hard after rear main replacement...

I have a 00 4runnner 2wd auto and my rear main seal was leaking so i took it to a shop get the seal replaced, after i got it back i noticed from a stop shifting to 1st and 2nd got harder ( was smooth before seal replacement) so i went back to the shop and the mechanic said that it shouldn't have been rough since they did not open the trans and they took it out whole ive tried to tell him that it was smooth before but he said they cannot do anything about it .. any thoughts or methods i can do to get the transmission shifting smooth again?

Might have solve my problem, checked my passing gear cable and it wasnt sitting right on the throttle body.. put it how its suppose to go then took it for a drive and the transmission shifts like before..
