'00 Toyota 4Runner. Cranks, no start.

I did a little search, and appears that nothing is concrete on what the problem can be. The 4Runner has been running great, and has not missed a beat.
It's been cold here in Oregon. This morning I went to start the 4Runner, but to my avail, no luck. It's crank, and crank, and crank, but won't turn over and fire up. I got another car, thinking it was the battery, and tried to jump start it. Unfortunately that did not work.

I'm not the most mechanical savvy, and i'm new to the Toyota platform, so any suggestions as what it could be would be very, VERY helpful as i'll try my best to find a solution and fix the problem.

For the engine to run, it needs fuel, compression, and spark. Compression doesn't usually come and go. A dirty fuel filter is more likely to cause a constant problem as well. A fuel pump or the power to the fuel pump could be intermittent, but more likely its spark. Your coil, distributor, spark plug, spark plug wires, etc. could be cracked or deteriorated and shorting when wet/condensated.

There are some unknowns. Have you changed out plugs recently? Etc..

Since it won't run you can't see if there's a CEL but if you have a reader you could check for stored codes.

I know it does not make sense but trust me this has worked before for me on new cars that are fuel injected. Try cranking it again and this time pump the gas pedal a little and see if it acts any different.

What did you do OP? Forget to tell us you were working under the hood yesterday and unplugged the ignitor?

I overlooked the corroded battery terminals. Quick cleaning, and i'm all set. New vehicle, unfamiliar with the mechanical aspect of the vehicle, and a slight panic will throw you into a little frenzy. Thanks to all with the quick replies.
