Just found a 02' Limited w/33K miles and in mint condition. It was a lease turn in, but is flawless. Its pearl white and has no dings or scratches. Anyway, I have talked them down to $22,900. Is this a good deal? Whats everyones thoughts on the 3rd generations? Oh, another question, does the 02' 4Runner Limiteds have the locking rear diffs?

stock i thought the ride was pretty decent, a little bouncy if your in the back but who cares about passengers right.... anyways, its a little tighter than your 4th gen, but it feels good once you get into the drivers seat, everything is right there. as for having a rear locking diff, no i dont believe they gave the '02 that option, you will have trac which owning a 4th gen you should already be familiar with. there are alot more mods out there you can do to it and being the limited im sure you will love it. i dont know about the price, but it seems good for low miles i would buy it up real quick if i were in your position
That's a pretty good price. Mine had about 32K on it in April and it was 24K.
I have leather, heated seats, rear heater, power everything, locking rear diff, tow package, sunroof, 6-disk changer, blah, blah, blah.
Take the VIN to Toyota and ask them about recall information and service. I did that with mine and verified it's been serviced like it should be and it has it's 30K service done. Luckly for me the previous owner took it to Toyota for all service and my buddy at another dealership was able to look it up.

I just bought mine almost exactly 1 year ago and paid just a bit more with 28k miles from an Infinity dealer.
If it had the above options, you have checked it over for wrecks, repaint etc I would be happy with that price.
Might want to run it thru CARFAX. I think they have a one time usage fee or you can pay a fee for a 30 day period. If all checks out I say go for it.
edit: The lockers ended for 3rd Gen with the 01. The 01 and 02 does Not have a locker.

I think he may have found a keeper. The three options I mentioned above were from my research, the major and pretty much the options for 02. Everything else was pretty much standard for the LIMITED. If I'm wrong here guy's please let me know for my own knowledge.
It's ok...I bought my 02 SR5 with about the same for 18K even w/ 4x4. So you should be able to get it down to 20.5 or 21. Just play hard ball and act like you don't care. I told my guy "18K is fair....and if this is going to work, then I don't care..I waited this long, I can wait again" Dealers love emotion

As far as I know, "TOYOTA" never offered 4Runner wheels in chrome. They have a 3rd party place do it, and some dealers add them to the truck and add-on to the sticker price for the option. There was no factory chrome 4Runner wheel though from Japan.
