02 Sport:Brake saga continues...now they beep as well as lurch. Help appreciated

I replaced my ABS/Master Cylinder unit with a used one because the car would “lurch” a little at stop signs sometimes, and I thought the ABS unit was bad. By lurch I mean lose a little pressure. Brake pedal was kind of solid slowly approaching red light and then...the pedal gives. Like it feels when you’re bleeding the brakes. Pump, pump, pump, release valve.

Now this ABS unit is doing the same thing. I bought an OBD scanner that can supposedly bleed the solenoids but I’m not sure how to do it. Foxwell NTS630 Plus (link below) scanner with crappy menu options. I emailed the US “contact us” address but that was weeks ago and I’ve gotten nothing back from them. My friend and I keep using the scanner to auto-bleed the brakes which is great but I’m not sure we’ve done the solenoids.

Now the brake pedal is actually beeping whenever it’s depressed. And now I’m depressed :redbrick:

These stupid brakes will be the death of me...and I hope not literally.

Any advice?

Sounds like your issue is likely due to a malfunctioning wheel speed sensor. Dirty, improperly seated, or going bad. At very low speed, an all ready weak signal from the wheel speed sensors tells the abs computer that wheel is locked, so it pulses the brakes. Pull your ABS codes, that may point you to the problem. Although it’s important to note, a malfunctioning wheel speed sensor as I described won’t throw a code.

Is there a fuse you can remove for the ABS? Try that and see if the problem goes away

If Im not mistaken, there is a bleed screw on the ABS unit. If you can pressure bleed the brakes, set the pressure at 12-14 psi and open the ABS bleeder and purge an ounce of fluid out, then do the individual brakes starting at the back. But if you have brakes right up to the point you stop rolling, its probably the ABS sensors.
