Hi all,
I have an '02 Sport that won't start on its own or with a jump. I will lay out a few of the symptoms below. Here's a quick background first - I bought it a couple weeks ago with 215,000 miles. I bought it from the Toyota dealer that sold it new. The only work I had done was a an oil change on Friday and it started fine once after that (to drive it home). A few hours later I was looking at an aftermarket GPS mount that had been installed on the dash with wires going into the dash behind the stereo - I was hoping to use the wires to connect my iPhone to the stereo. I unplugged the two wires that went into the mount but did nothing else. The remote unlock didn't work when I did this so I used the key to get in through the driver's side and unlocked the passenger door from the inside since the aftermarket key I have won't unlock the passenger side or the tailgate.
Here's what has happened since:
-I use the remote unlock fob, which worked but gave very faint beeps. It hasn't worked since.
-When I entered the truck a red light to the lower left of the steering wheel was blinking rapidly and making a loud clicking sound. This clicking sound appears to be coming from in or near the engine fuse box.
-When I turn the key to start nothing happens - no clicking, no lights, no radio, no clock, nothing except for the air conditioner and interior lights (see below).
-The air conditioner/fan does turn on when I turn the ignition.
-The interior lights will turn on, although faintly.
-It will not take a jump.
-The red blinking light to the lower left of the steering wheel will stop when I turn on the headlight switch (the headlights don't turn on when I do this), but it starts blinking again within a few minutes.
Any suggestions?
