03 4runner unintentional acceleration with weathertech floor liner

It was not my intention to turn this into a flame thread. I like my 4runner and I'm going to keep it. I'm fairly certain its the mats that are aftermarket that are causing the problem. Also, I think my hook may need some superglue since it moves a little too much.

And if anyone thinks im just trying to flame or am an idiot, im in south florida and you're more than welcome to test it out yourself.

Check your linkage... you could have a frayed throttle cable or something else hanging up it up.

No throttle cable in these rigs... all electronic. gas pedal is a servo connected by electrical wires to the engine.

this is a pic of my left foot flooring the gas ( car was off ), there was a little delay in rebound when I let off. But as you can see, it's no where near the Mat.

This is at rest.

If the mat is CLIPED in, It is not posible!!! REALLY WTF

I'm not sure why everyone is so defensive, but I think you should maybe just trim the nubby part of the mat near the pedal. Your's looks just a little different than Micah's above.?... Also, I have the Weatertech's and have never had a problem either. My guess is if more of us actually really tried to re-create the problem (like you did), a FEW of us MAY have the same issue.

Yea. I called and complained about what happened. They are sending a replacement and stated it maybe a manufacture defect or a mislabeled product. The other mats fit perfect.
