03 SE Full JBL Gut & Replacement

BL: any clue what size spacer you had to make/buy to fit the 8w3 in there? I'd like to buy one, if possible, as I don't have power tools with me at the moment.

Having trouble finding spacers online!

I made one just by tracing the stock spacer. Shit you can use cardboard spacers, as long as sealed well it's fine.
 
Great audio rebuild thread!

May I ask if you have any alternator/engine noise in the speakers when stepping on the gas pedal?

I didn't think of the cardboard route. How difficult was it to create enough depth for the sub to fit in that box after you break away some of the plastic ribbing?
Know of any sites to buy a premade spacer ring that I could use rather than have to gamble and try to make one myself out of cardboard?

I did at first and it's worked itself out where I don't hear it anymore.

It wasn't difficult, as I said in the section in my first post about cutting the ribs out, be very careful and pay attention closely. I do not know of any premade spacer rings, I'm sure they exist somewhere out there on those interwebs but not that I'm currently aware of. It's not really a gamble for you to try and make them, just pain in the ass and time consuming, since the cardboard will flex when cutting the outer circle after the inner first. That's the best way to do it though. Doing outside first is just worthless cause you'll almost undoubtedly mess one up lol
 
BrightLight -- we have the same amp/sub combo and I'm finishing my install tomorrow. Any help with selecting the proper amp settings or a picture you could send me?

Please, I've got the install completed, but haven't had time to mess with the settings yet. Ark sent me this link to help, but I haven't even tried messing with it yet. Probably won't happen til this weekend, at best. How to make the bass in your car sound its best

We have the same setup, would you mind pointing me in the right direction for tuning the amp or giving me your settings? I assume we'll have slightly different settings due to different HU and you having a separate amp running your door speakers, but it will still help tremendously, thanks!

Hey man, sorry for dropping off the face of th earth again! Works been crazy as well as life itself. I'm around now if still need anything or to see your finished project
