What to use to restore the plastic trim on 03 sport?

I assume you're talking about the grey, unpainted trim?
Safe way: Cerakote trim restorer (Trim Coat), one of the better ones, holds up long time.
Redneck way: Did this on my Jeep XJ, and a buddy's TJ -- EXTREMELY careful propane torch application
(No joke, you're essentially melting off/reviving the UV damaged layer off the top, and I kid you not, it works)Obviously might be a little sketchy on a 4Runner, where you can't remove the trim, but if you don't believe me, try it on a faded mudflap/splashguard, inconspicious area. JUST BE CAREFUL and gentle. It works quickly.

Thank you for the advice. Cerakote trim restorer will be on my list along with Wipe New. I just picked up some Armor all "Outlast" . It is an 8 oz bottle and I happened to be at Lowes earlier today. I had read that it was good and worth a try. PS. I use a propane torch to melt the white scratches on my plastic coffee cup once in a while so, I fully understand that approach .
History: Bought my 4runner in 05 with 70K mi. It now has 110K It sits in driveway for stay at home wife/mom for last 18Yrs. The rusted frame scare made me start looking at newer 4run or tacos. I dropped my spare tire and skid-plates and inspected the frame. I wire brushed or rubbed all welds by hand. It is only surface rust on welds so I'm going to restore and keep her. I want New rims, CV boots ( had done yesterday) , Bilstein 4600s, repaint side mirrors, Update JBL stereo with a newer head unit W/touch w/back up cam/Waze... Good old greasen-oil will stop the existing surface rust.
Good for another 18 years...

I feel you on that, I just got my 08 SR5 last summer, previous owner had the "undercoating" done on it (stuff that looks like oily mud sprayed on). Scraped it all off this fall, and it is only some surface rust on the welds just like yours - fluid filmed the entire frame, and in the spring will most probably do what you have planned, "restore and preserve" essentially (wire wheel, paint, oil). I should be good for another 10 years with my frame and such. Body is solid save for the tailgate, so I am hunting for a clean one!
I do hope you restore it all up nicely, and the faded plastics can be brought back to their former glory !
