04 4 Runners

Hello all,
I'm fairly new to the forum, and I'm looking at a 04 limited 4x4 v8 4 runner to purchase. It seems like there aren't as many postings of pictures/mods of the 04 year model.

This could just be my imagination or lack of time on the forum, but I was just curious if there was any reason I seem to see less threads about mods done to the 04 year model 4 runner.

Do the body styles vary greatly from year to year? Are there major performance differences with the 04?

03-05 had a slightly different bumper and headlight setup than the later year gen4 models.

I know I'm not the only one with a modified '04... But yes, '03-'05 were the same body style ('03 had gray fender flares for most trims, which was done away in '04) after '06 there was a face lift with different front bumpers, front fender flares, and updated lighting. In '05 the 2UZ-FE was updated with VVTi to provide slightly better performance across the power band. But the previous non-VVTi engine is still plenty powerful and the gain was very small between the two.
