'04 Edition Question

I'm confused. My 2004 V-6 4WD runner has an "SR5" emblem on each front door, but then on the tailgate it says "SPORT", which I previously thought were mutually exclusive models offered at that time. The car did originate in Canada, if that has anything to do with it.

So, whenever I go to a supply house website and am keying in my vehicle for parts, I'm not sure which to use when the choices are SR5 and Sport...??

Anyone have an explanation...? Thanks.

Do you have the hood scoop? I'm guessing it's an SR5 because usually there is only a "4Runner" badge on the back. Interior colors are different on the sport models I think, too.

Ah ... hood scoop and 17" wheels ... I change my answer to Sport!

The SR5 comes with 16-inch alloy wheels and, for 2004, body-colored bumpers, fender flares and lower cladding. The SR5 V6 include automatic climate control, remote keyless entry, skid plates to protect the underbody and a tire pressure monitor.

The Sport Edition comes with Toyota's new X-REAS shock-damping system, a clever yet simple hydraulic setup that improves stability and handling in sweeping turns. The 4Runner Sport Edition V6 comes with a special cloth interior and are distinguished by a hood scoop, a silver painted grille and standard roof rails, fog lamps, color-keyed outside mirrors, and 17-inch alloy wheels. The also have slightly larger brake rotors.
