04 TRD SC brand new should I buy? HELP!!!

I found a guy who has a brand new in box TRD supercharger kit for an '04 4runner for $3800.

OR

I found a new Tundra supercharger kit and an '04 TRD ecu for $3100. I need to repin the harness on this one to make it work. (i have the wiring diagrams and knowledge to do this)

wich way should I go?

I also can get a Greddy emanage piggy back ecu and program the timing and add. injectors thrugh that for more boost in future. or the nitrous kit i have had in my garage for a year. aprox $550.

I need to make a decision in the next day or so. I told the guy tomorrow.

PLEASE ADVISE ON WHAT TO DO!!!!

I'd buy the new TRD in the box if it was me. When you install a supercharger do you have to run premium gas from then on?

I run 91 all the time any way, but the answer is yes.

For sure, get the ECU too!

I thought the 04 ECU fought the supercharger and the horsepower increase was there for not very good. I am not sure that was ever confirmed though on a dyno??? There was allot os specualtion as to why they stopped making it, was it a performance issue, was it a marketing issue with VVTi coming out soon............but no concrete answers.

I know someone high up at TRD and am going to try and get one too. I would love to know how this turns out. I have never found anyone with an 04 V8 comment on how it worked.

well here is the deal, I ordered the 2001ish sequoa kit (all the same stuff just labled dif and cheaper because of low demand for sequoa) with an '04 tundra double cab ecu. since the kit is the older harnessing, I can discect it and using the wiring diagram from toyota for the sequoa and the 4runner i can find out what they do for the tranny and the other signals they manipulate. this way I can use a greddy emanage in the future just for reprograming for better power with out the pulley change.

should be coming in today, will do electricle research this weekend. Will let you know how it turns out when its all in and on the butt dyno. for the the different trd computers, they all have the same wirring pin outs, as for the tunning, I am going to hook up a wide band to it and see what the mixtures are like.
