Okay, heres the deal... I installed a Gen2 supercharger on my 98 3.4L runner. It runs fine, no cel, no hesitation just LOW BOOST! And I cannot for the life of me figure it out... I've only been able to hit 6PSI...

I've read thread after thread after thread...

Stats:
98 Runner
3.4L
Auto
Gen2 Supercharger
2.2pulley
7th Injector
New supercharger belt
Smoke tested (good)
Boost leak tested (found leak, fixed leak, haven't been able to re-test)
Brand new bypass valve
URD "O" shaped throttle body gasket
New upper plenum gaskets
New lower intake valley gaskets
Brand new boost gauge
NO abnormal noises in the supercharger
Running colder plugs
Running colder thermostat
Running Premium 92 fuel
Located in Vancouver Wa (Elevation 200-300FT)
Supercharger is torqued down

I am about ready to pay somebody to figure it out or sell it and build a rear mount turbo kit...

Looking for input! Thanks guys

What gauge are you using? Verified the reading with a second gauge? Any small leak or kink in meter line might affect it too.

Done a boost leak down test?

Using an analog TurboSmart gauge. The gauge tested less then 1/2PSI difference.

I have not done a boost leak test, it's a good idea though. I will definitely be trying it this week

If you don't like diagnosing a boost leak issue, you sure won't like all the tuning and problem-solving a turbo build will take.

I think you've hit all the simple ones and checks, I would take it to a performance shop that has a dyno to see if they can figure out what's going wrong.

I am actually more familiar with turbo applications, I've had/built multiple turbo Honda's. The easy thing with those is you can just install a boost controller and turn up the boost if you're unhappy lol This has been my first supercharger application so it's all new to me.

Update:

Yesterday I hooked up a lap top and watched the RPM data list while I sprayed brake clean on just about everything. I noticed the RPM would drop 50-75 when spraying around the 3rd runner. I then removed the supercharger and inspected the mating surfaces and gasket. Everything visually looked fine, I sprayed some copper gasket sealer on the gasket and re-installed everything. Ripped her around the block, NO change...

Today I was able to boost leak test the 4runner. I ended up finding the lower valley intake leaking (YAY for finding something!) so, I removed the super charger and removed the lower intake. I removed the old gaskets and cleaned up all the mating surfaces. I then installed 2 new Toyota valley gaskets as well as a new knock sensor harness (since I was right there)... Re-installed everything, bled the coolant and took her for a rip. BOOM 6PSI.... FML no changed in the slightest. I did not have enough time boost leak test again so that will wait until next week. Very frustrating :dammit:

If you were local, I'd swap chargers with you to see if it's your supercharger or not. Maybe there's someone nearby that could help?

I still think a dyno/performance shop will be able to find the leak.
