'05 4Runner not running

Problem began with lost keys. Had locksmith to make new keys. Vehicle started and ran 15 miles home. Next day ran about 20 miles and quit. It would start and run a little and quit, but managed to get home. Replaced fuel pump, and it is working. Engine starts sometimes, runs a little and quits. does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong?? The keys seem to be O.K. When the valet key is put in the key security light comes on, and with the new transponder key the security light goes off, so I assume the key is programmed correctly. Anyone have any helpful ideas?? Thanks....whamp

Not enough information! Was the fuel pump really bad? Do you have any check engine codes? If not I would suspect the key to be intermittent. Does it continue running OK with the spare key?

Hmmm, sounds like it may be the immobilizer otherwise a bad coincidence.

Would need to see if there were any codes popped...is your check engine light on or blinking?

Sounds like he stole the vehicle but couldn't keep it running when the engine immobilizer kicked in.
