06-09 Fogs - How big of a light can I squeeze?

A buddy of mine does a considerable amount of desert running and we starting kicking around the idea of upgrading the stock fogs. I know many on here are big proponents of leaving them as-is, non-HID etc which I fully agree with for street use.

In this case, we were considering squeezing maybe a 3.5-4" dedicated fog/wide-beam driving light in there. Has anyone done this before? Any idea on how big a light we can squeeze in the stock bezel with some Dremel massaging? The idea is to keep it as stock looking from the outside as possible while fitting a functional, purpose built light.

It's been a couple years since I did this but I'm pretty sure it was the high beam 9005 bulb that can be modified to fit in the there. Dramatic increase in light! I plan on getting yellow Winjet replacement housings soon since one of them are cracked. I bet there's a 9005 HID conversion.

i think you can fit a 4.5 inch light in there behind the trim

Those LED's look cool what brand Lumen output?

[MENTION=77471]kevinpt[/MENTION] , your first pic is very similar to what I'm talking about. The light I have in mind is 4" exactly, edge to edge. Do you know what the exact opening is? I'm starting to think it might fit in there perfectly.

Any details on what you did to mount the light?

Yeah I hear you guys on the HID or 9005 bulbs. What I'm talking about using though are purpose built HID lamps that are made for some serious output and spread. Any dimensions on the fog bezel opening would be much appreciated.

Curious if anyone has done this before? Thanks guys
