What's the life expectancy of these LED bulbs? I have little faith in tiny cooling fans, in my experience they don't last very long and once the fans go I suspect the lamps will overheat and fail in short order.

Getting ready to pull the trigger on these GTR Ultra 2.0..

Sadly I didn’t take before and after, I installed my old GTR’s in my moms crosstrek, she was complaining about her dim headlights but the GTR ultra 2.0’s are as bright as any HID kit I’ve had, I can’t recommend them enough.

Maybe its just me.. The GTR Ultras seem to be pretty bright, how is the distance on those compared to the Auxbeams?

The throw distance is as good as an HID kit if not better. LED tech has caught up 100% I used to be on the HID bandwagon, and the last gen of GTR ultra’s could not compete with an HID kit. The new ultra 2.0’s however are as bright and have the throw distance needed to be the best option.

Edit: I replaced the excellent Sealight Laxma LEDs with Boslla Bullet B4 LEDs designed for normal, snow/rain, and fog driving in August 2021. So far the Boslla bulbs are outstanding.

I decided to try these Sealight Laxma LEDs in my low beams and have been very happy. The specs claim a defined beam pattern with a cutoff similar to OEM so they won't blind oncoming drivers. I've had them in for a couple of weeks and nobody has flashed me. The illumination is outstanding and gets ridiculous when I add the high beams, which are these Auxbeams I added about a year ago.

Am i the only one who is having issues with the auxbeams flickering and then just going out? I've only had mine installed for maybe 6 months and they're already dying. I didn't even notice that big of a difference in brightness compared to regular halogen bulbs either.

I ended up getting these. They seem brighter than the auxbeams, better reviews. I haven't driven with them yet but i'll try to remember to post an update.

My area has its share of fog & rain so I’ve been wanting yellow fogs for a while. Went with these Alla LEDs, which were reasonably priced at $19.99 and easy to install. I’ll post more once I have a chance to try them out. Also planning to do part one of the fog light mod ( thanks, [MENTION=15785]J.A.[/MENTION] ).

My 4R is now all LEDs on the front end (except for the DRLs).

Just switched to the Auxbeam H11's and 9005's for my 06 Sport (thanks Formidable), but haven't pulled the trigger on a switch for my fogs based on feedback in this thread. Anyone have thoughts on halogens for my fogs that would match the 6500K temp of the Auxbeams?

At that temp, you need to go LED or HID...there are probably halogens out there that can 'simulate' the color, but the light output would leave a lot to be desired.

On a side note, I went with these on my '05...

The white mode is 'ok', but the mix and yellow (especially in rain) mode...damn, I can see!. The white mode (mode 1) is too much like a high beam. Would like to go with another set of these for the fogs, but worried about exposure.

Changed some bulbs out to LEDs today.

Reverse bulbs, license plate bulbs, front parking bulbs.

Left: 6000k
Right: 4000k

I prefer the 4000k - I think I'll replace all my interior T10 bulbs with these.

LED left, stock halogen right. They're a tad too warm (compared to the license plate bulbs), but oh well.

Decent amount more light thrown.

Both of these were out for me, so might as well.

These will hopefully go in tomorrow. I'll make a new thread once I'm done.

Well my Auxbeams lasted a little less than a year before the passenger side started to flicker. So while I figure out which way I will go next, I am back to the stock H11's. Talk about back to the dark ages.
Looking for light with better distance than I had with the Auxbeam LEDs, might go HID.

First of all, I am a huge retrofit fan. I did genuine morimoto 55w HID retrofits on my 02 sport edition. Also did 55w morimoto HIDs with upgraded projectors and lenses on my 14 limited edition. I now have an 08 V8 limited and picked the following LED bulbs up for shits and kicks... I am VERY surprised. ... As good as my prior HID set ups that cost hundreds more.

I've had these installed for probably a year now. And while I like them for city driving, they barely throw any light past 150ft or so. Highway driving at night feels borderline unsafe at 70mph. I'm wondering if it is due to the 6500k color?

I find it hard to believe that these beat out Morimoto HIDs... but what temp were your HIDs that these beat out??



Again though, the Auxbeams are great upgrades for the cost... assuming you only drive in the city.
