06 SR5 V6 Leaking Coolant

Hey guys,

Was under the car today to replace some fog lights when I noticed this. It clearly appears to be a pink fluid and given it's coming from the vicinity of the radiator it's most likely radiator fluid.

Has anyone here had this problem before? Can it be fixed or do I need to shell out for a whole new radiator? Any idea how much this will cost?

I replaced my rad a few years ago and I saw someone else on here a few months ago also replaced theirs. It appears to be a rare problem. I think mine was leaking at the seal between the fins and the side tank which I don't think is servicable for a DIY. Can't remember how much but I did it myself.

Kmvreter,

Just found your post on the radiator. Your problem sounds exactly like mine, leaking at the joint between the side tank and the core itself. I too have pink coolant dried on the fins as you did. I guess I will need a new radiator.

Which aftermarket brand did you purchase?

Thanks!

I thought the leak was at that seal but it wasn't. It may not have come through clearly but mine was actually leaking at the joint on the core where the fins meet the sides.

I got it at NAPA or one of the other chain parts counters. Mine was a Spectra Premium # CU2580. (I'm in Canada so the numbers may not match.)

My radiator did the same thing in December. I replaced it with this one for about $150.00

Amazon.com: Denso 221-3117 Radiator: Automotive

It's a Denso.

You will probably want to replace the water pump, thermostat, and maybe the upper and lower radiator hoses while you have everything apart.

I couldn't see that my water pump was weeping pink until I took the fan off.

is all that rust on your radiator support or the radiator itself I haven't ever seen rust that bad on a new car, but I'm in california.

Haha, yeah it's been a really rough winter here in Philly. Lots of salt on the roads. I've tried to wash the car every time, but it snows every god damn week!
