07 fj lift work on 4runner?

Yes, it will work, but this kit will require cutting a cross-member, so your warranty will be void. I'd wait till warranty will expire and then do the upgrade. My 2c.

I wonder why they don't list it for the 4runner??

Not so much worried about the warranty, I'm sure it would probably void anything having to do with the modification, but doubt it would void powertrain or other parts. I haven't had a single issue with the 4runner yet (knock on wood)

What bahooves me is that you can finds 6 inch suspension lift kits for everything except our freaking 4 Runner! You can get one for the brand new design of the FJ Crusier, the Nissian Armanda, GM's new GMT platforms but nothing for our 4Runner.

I'll probably ditch this thing in 2008 or 2009 because I wanna jack up my 4X4 for offroad hunting trips after its warranty expires.

I was starting to think of doing that too, but if this FJ lift works I'm going to stick with it..

Yeah it is sick that the FJ is an 07 and they already make more stuff aftermarket for it..

6 in lift?!! I would really re-consider what you want to do with it before buying! You're asking for a lot of work & possible complications.

Good luck.

bracket lift the front and use LC coils with daystar spacers for the rear or leaf it.

but seriously dude. jumping the runner up that much is dangerous. I have almost 6 inchs of lift with mine with 3.5 sus and 2 inch body.. thats enough for what I will ever need. bout to level out the front a little more since its only at 2.5 sus right now

sorry for off topic

i really dont see the poitn in 6 inchs of lift inless you are solid axeling your 03 or a 3rd gen..

higher COG means easiler flip over,, not gonna help you flex any better either

If it works on it I'm going to go for it.. I have had tons of rigs lifted 6+ inches with no problems.

Just seems kinda pointless to lift it 3 inches if I can stuff 265/70/17's on it at factory height.

There is a point to lifting it higher, clearance for bigger tires, and just straight up clearance. I'm WA and there is deep water holes and mud, last time I went to a spot I went all the time with my other trucks I got real close to swamping it..

Besides if it goes higher it will have wider tires and a wider track to compensate for the added height.

you may gain clearance for tires on a bracket lift but that lower bracket is gonna get hung up on everything!!!!

do a 3 inch sus lift and 2 inch body.. I have enough room to fit 315/75/16s if I fix my upper control arms, regear and trim.

right now I have 285s underneath with enough room to fit my head and somebody elses between the tire and top of my rear fender flare

The lift is tough enough not to worry about getting hung up really.. Shouldn't be any different than getting a crossmember hooked up on somthing, you'd still have more clearance for the drop bracketry because of larger tires. You would have correct CV angles too. I have only see 1inch body lifts for 2005's.

Costwise it would be cheaper to go with the procomp rather than a 3- 3.5 lift and a body lift. Complete kit is about $1600.

search bracket lift on yotatech, most of them actually wheel their trucks to the extent of knowing whats best for what area.

only 2 ppl i have seen with bracket lifts on 4runners.. that should say something out of 100s if not thousands of trucks.

Looks like you have the 3rd generation of the 4Runner which came 1-2 inches higher than the 4th gen right out of the factory. Also the 3rd gens are not as wide as the 4th gens thus you don't have the outward tire stance. I truly believe its all about why you want to lift and what are going to do with your lifted truck. I live in so. California where people with lifted american trucks (4, 6, 8 inches) are driving down our busy and dangerous freeways. A intelligent being who lifts a truck up 6 inches or more would change thier driving habits to accomendate the change in dynamics.

I want two things from my lifted truck: 1) the abilty to have somewhat on road manners for communting without beating my brains out or having control issues and
2) being able to sit tall, high enough to clear obstacles sticking up in my way.
I plan to move back down to the bayou state in 4 years. I need to lift my truck high enough to see far enough ahead and above objects, roll over twigs, tree saplings, small logs, ditches, etc when I am in the woods hunting. I do not want my truck sitting right on top of my tires......I need clearance to keep these twigs, branches, and mud from cramping between the tire and wheel wells. Also, I wanna look down on people when I drive on the highway. :))

I have a job where I sit high as compared to other traffic. I am use to driving top heavy, tip over prone vehicles. I do not plan to drive my 6 inch lifted truck like a soccer mom on her way from work trying to get home and pick up the kids who are late for soccer practice. I'll just be the one out there on the highway cruising as these types of slash and dash drivers zoom by.

In summary and to be short........ I just wanna jack "MY" mother freaking truck up in the doggone air for a reasonable and fair price. When the 36k warranty is over; the truck is going 6 inches up in the air or 4 wheels are going off my driveway. I'm serious..... if the new Jeep (pile of heap) 4 door Wrangler (Tangler) get an aftermarket 6 inch lift kit then I might consider buying it. The Toyota 4Runner use to have the reputation of being a good daily commuter that had the ability to be easily modded for the offroad also. Now my question is if Toyota is going to return the 4Runner back to this status or is the new FJ Cruiser taking the offroad spotlight from it. Only the 5th generation will let us know..........if only I can wait that long!

i understand you want big.. look at goodtimes rig, hes running 35s with long travel front and I think a 1.5 inch BL. you can get custom bls made you know that.. not hard

however
I would realllllly search bracket lifts and drivetrain lifts on yotatech before you make that impulse buy on something you have no idea how it performs..

It doesnt matter how tall it is, but when a bracket lift lowers the COG it doesnt matter if its 2 inchs or 15 inchs. its going to be tippy!!

I have had several already. never once did I get hung up by them or have a single problem with them. None of my trucks were tippy either.

I realize that part of the lift is front only, but the rear is solid axle so thats no problem.

both of these were bracket lifts and I went everywhere with them..

go for it.. 1700 total for 6 inchs of lift when it can be done for 900 with coilovers, coils in rear and a 2 inch bl

i dont see the need for this much lift on a 4runner.

a truck like those two? two totally different rigs and characterisitcs.. cant believe you just compared those to a 4runner.

Well it's not an apples to apples comparison. Just saying that bracket lifts are durable, and work with everyday driving and some good abuse here and there too.

Both are independent front suspension with solid rear axle and a v8 though..

just do more research on bracket lifts for 4runners, not anything else!... on yotatech, not here,

post up over there too.

not discouraging you, just know what you are getting yourself into with a 4runer which is half the size of that f150 there.

I don't know what the body lift cost is but from what I see the coilovers aren't cheap.. Downey kit front and rear is $1,461.75 (I just priced that)

So why not just go suspension lift and not mess with the body lift.
The bracket lift is $1,695.99 thats front and rear.
