08 Tacoma Rims. What you guys think?

I'm on the fence. I bought my 4Runner with these already on so, didn't really have a choice. I much prefer the 5-Star, or 16-Hole Steel, but if I can't find another option in the coming weeks when I get tires, then these will stay.

Those 08 wheels look pretty good on a 3rd gen!
I saw another one on another post and wondered where the wheels came from, now i know. So you've got some company on that. Seem like a good deal if they aren't scuffed or curb rashed, tires a decent backups or sell em while they're still fresh. Enjoy the 33s! (gonna lift it some? I'm thinking 1.5 or 2 at most but i like 1.5)

Bad deal IMO. I have a set I'm thinking of selling and was going to sell them for a lot cheaper than that. The BFG rugged trails suck and unless thy have a lot of tread aren't worth buying. Those wheels come up for sale anywhere around $150-300 all the time but Canada is different. If you're not going to use the tires then if wait for a cheaper set.

I agree. Guys think that OEM wheels are worth a ton of money because of how much a dealer charges for them to replace one and it's just not true. A decent set of OEM rims should be less than $300 unless they're from a limited edition like the black TRD FJ rims etc.

It's true. $500 is not a steal by any means.

Thanks for your opinions guys! Really appreciate this. What you guys think of aftermarket wheels? I was thinking I might go with like Eagle Alloys or theres a bit cheaper brand Ion Alloys from Canadian Tire. My biggest concern about after market is that they're not hub centric. Do any of you have trouble balancing or run centering rings?

Are you running wheel spacers? I have a set of 265/75/16 tires going on, and I might have to stay with these wheels for awhile. I don't want to run wheel spacers and I have heard that these wheels might cause rubbing/not fit due to there offset with larger tires than stock. Any insight?
I was running 265/70 on my first set with ZERO rub and I'm now on 285/75 (pictured) with very little rubbing on my flares (which aren't even installed correctly due to the Tacoma fenders) when turning.
Also worth mentioning is that my front bumper needs to come back another inch or so so I might be trimming that once I modify the brackets more.
*edit* Whoops, I'm on 1.25" spacers with the 285 setup as well.

I found a set of those for $350 and I went to pick them up... I have the originals on the car I decided to take one off and measure the off set I did and then when I went to the guys house I measured the off set of his wheels and they stick under the car about .75 - 1 inch more than the 6 spoke so it was a no go for me.

I bought a set of those brand new take offs on ebay in '07 for $350 shipped. Ran them for 6 years with 265/75 16 tires, no rubbing and i thought they fit next to the fenders just like stock. I never measured but didnt notice them sticking out or sucked in any different than my stock wheels. I always thought they were some of the nicest looking wheels out there.

Interesting. Two experiences with pros and cons. One worked, while the other did not apparently. What to do... what to do.
