1.25" vs 1.5" vs 2" Wheel Spacers

Kinda an old thread, but does anyone have pics of 33x12.5's with 1.25 wheel spacers?

Not sure if i need them. Got an 99 4runner, and 33x12.5s on 4th gen stock alloys i wana put on. Will i need em? Thanks for your input

I believe the 2" all pro spacers you are referring to are lug-centric, designed to work with older mini trucks and land cruisers. 3rd gen requires hub-centric spacers to work properly.

Just to add a little if I can. Most of the tire shops around here (CA) atleast in my area will not touch a vehicle with spacers.

Also if I understand correctly the rear wms is narrower than the front to make the overall steering radius of the vehicle tighter.

Can I ask what size tires you have on there? The 1.5" spacers look like plenty. Because the back is 1/2" more narrow, should I go with 1.25" fronts and 1.5" rear? Anyone? Thanks, new here.

Fact: The rear axle is ~1/2" narrower than the front track.

I can't find anywhere that says the rear track is 1/2" narrower than the front track. In fact the only place I can find so far says that the front and rear track are both 62".
I'm new here so I'm just trying to get my facts straight before I go getting spacers. Any help would be much appreciated. TY
EDIT: I also found both 62" here. :/ I'm confused

It's actually 5/8" narrower than the front. The best way to tell is to measure from WMS to WMS.

Id go with 1.5" rear and 1.25" front. I did and it looks perfect IMO

I read somewhere that the rear axle is slightly narrower to help the vehicle track better - it was designed and engineered that way from the factory for a reason.

If you put 1.25" all around you are maintaining what the designers intended. If you put wider spacers on the rear you are changing that aspect.

Anyway... this is my understanding.

The rear is a total of 1/2" narrower so you would want spacers that are each a 1/4" thicker. I would have done 1.5" in back and 1.25" in front if ST sold 1.5s.

Wheels spacers are next up on my list, but I can't decide on which size to get.

I know that Spidertrax only makes 1.25", but All-Pro makes all three sizes.

Right now I'm running 265/70/17 on Tundra rims. When I turn the wheels the tire is fairly close to my Limited flares.

Will any of these sizes cause rubbing?

Which of the three sizes will bring the tires closest to the Limited flares?

Pictures would also be helpful.

3rd Gen's are all the same width. Doesn't matter on what year it is. I've measured the WMS and it's 5/8" narrower. No need to find a thread on it.

i would go with 1.5" all around or 1.25 all around. make sure they are hub centric. (little lip around the inside edge. look at my pic again)

The link you provided shows specs of a 2008 (4th gen). Go to the same page and change the year to 2000. It shows the front as 59.3" and the rear as 58.9".

2" will RUB far worse when you turn the wheel.

2" will mean that the wheel will likely hit the fender at full compression - trust me!

1.25" with factory backspacing with 285x75x16 will mean that the wheel will hit the fender at full compression. I know!

What length should I get?

As we all know, 4Runner's have high roll over rates... My '97 has 3 inch Rough Country lift with offroading tires and stock wheels. I want to not only widen the stance to lower the roll over rate but i also like the way it looks. I'm aiming for 1.5 to 2 inches and hoping my lift stops rubbing and such

Yep. I just added some 1.25" spacers I had in my garage, and I am rubbing on the pnch weld now. I was not rubbing beforehand. And I am running 2" of lift up front.

I guess I need to start doing some cutting.... :shrug:

Save the cutting and do a BL:clap2:
