2013 Limited on the list
I'm in Chicago and taking my 2013 Limited to the dealer in about 45 minutes. When I called yesterday they said that they were a little blindsided by the recall. According to them they were notified by Toyota at the same time the story went to the press. Hopefully this is a relatively painless swap when I get there.

My late 2016 SR5 is not on the list as of today. Guessing a build date of Oct or so since I picked it up in Jan 2017. Really wish the folks at Toyota would make a clarification which would state something like - vins past a certain date do not have Takata airbag. Otherwise I have to keep checking every few weeks and see what is new
I would not do this air bag too quickly .. after this is being done for a few months then the tech's will do this air bag replacing in a more skilled way.. takes some years for this air bag failure to occur ..corrosion issue.
2016 was the model year they switched airbags, if yours was manufactured late after the switch it will not be impacted. if you bought yours that late in 2016 there's a good chance it was after the airbag switch.
the recall is years old, the techs have been doing this for years now. the only new part is they have finally extended it to newer models. you're right that it doesn't fail right away, that's why they prioritized older vehicles and only extended into the newer models now. in other words, it's already been some years. people have died from shrapnel, there is no reason to wait to do this.

I've heard "horror stories" of people scheduling appointments, showing up, and not having the parts - and the dealership refusing to let the person drive the vehicle for weeks until the parts come in. No idea which automaker(s) this pertained to.
Anyone think there's a risk of that here? I need to get the front axle bearing TSB done, so might try to have both completed in one appointment.

Same status for Canada, I would keep checking to see when it updates thereby allowing you to make an appt.
I was at the dealer yesterday getting an oil change and they mentioned the air bag recall. Said they would order the part and then call me when its in to schedule an appointment. Part showed up today and going to call them back next week to schedule some time for me to drop the car off.
