10 cars that can last for 250,000 miles

I'm glad to see that 2 of the 3 vehicles I own made the list. My third, a Jeep XJ, just hit the 250K mile mark. However, just about everything on it is leaking or requires replacement. I'm slowly rebuilding the entire vehicle.

The only model to get the chrome and "body kit" in Canada is the limited. The sr5 and te bumpers are pretty much identical. Makes more sense to me as it makes the Limited stand out more.

They're almost all over 250k miles already, that's why.

Those look so much better than our SR5s. I kind of find it insulting they think we Americans want all that chrome and "ground effects".

They charge Canadians a LOT extra for that privilege.

It's based on the same GMT800/900 platform that all Silverados, Tahoe's and Suburbans use and has the same engine and transmission options that have made GM famous for reliability and performance. All the GM small blocks build off the previous generation and the LSx family of truck engines have LS1 DNA in them, same as the transmission save for the most current ones they are all based off the TH350/400 from way back when.

Yep. Those are the best engines in the world IMO. And no one said these trucks wouldn't rattle-traps with no AC or power windows when they got to 300k.

6 of the 10 vehicles on the list are Toyota products! Of all the lists that magazines put out, this is the one I would want my vehicle on.

Yep. Those are the best engines in the world IMO. And no one said these trucks wouldn't rattle-traps with no AC or power windows when they got to 300k.

They would have heat though cuz the blend doors always get stuck on HOT!!!!

I'll take issue with the Honda Ridgeline....same powertrain, etc as my old '06 Pilot and while maybe the engine itself might last 250,000 miles....I highly doubt the rest of the truck would keep up. Both transmissions and cooling systems are known problems on these trucks. At 160,000km, the cooling system on my Pilot ruptured, sending coolant into the transmission...not exactly a good scenario. I knew it was time to move on...

That's not the first time I have heard less than favorable reviews on the Pilots, doesn't exactly live up to that Honda reliability image.....

I was just checking on that Canadian Toyota site and man they get some sweet looking SR5's!
I haven't seen any Canucks on the forum owning Blizzard Pearl or Shoreline Blue SR5's yet.

Not sure where those pics came from but we don't have them. If you go to the Build & Price you can only get SB in a TE or Limited and BP in a Limited in Canada. The Canadian SR5s do have the TE front and rear bumper and wheel well trim except that the front and rear bumpers are body colour, though the roof rack is the same as what you guys get.

It can happen on any vehicle. It happened on my 01 4-Runner at about 190,000 miles. When I took it to the trans shop they had a 1999 or 2000 in there for the same reason.

I've spent time on the Ridgeline forum (my wife has an 07) and many there have over 150k already and doing fine. Have noticed problems with the tranny cooling lines to the radiator and some #4 cylinder problems though. I think Honda is slipping. Acura MDX's still have torque converter/trans failure issues and this has been going on since 2002.

Side note, wish my SR5 looked like the Canadian model. I love chrome but not where Toyota put it--all over my SR5!

Wow...I would've been very content if my Pilot had reached 190,000 miles instead of 160,000km. I was hoping to get two more years out of it.
