120v inverter in the cab

I'm picking up my 16 Mag grey TEP on Friday and I need to install a 120v plug that is accessible from the drivers seat. I'm coming out of a Jeep JKU and I love that there is one right below the center console as I use a electric razor daily. Has anyone installed a inverter? What was your solution?

Do you plug the razor in and shave while driving?

Mine only gets used by the kids while on trips. I bought a short extension cord that I run up to the back seat so they can charge their stuff.

My wife has a 2014 limited and it only has a 12v in the console. I hope my TEP comes with a 120v in the console, that would be great! Are you sure you're not thinking 12v? And yes, I shave while driving, takes exactly zero concentration as I'm not looking in the mirror or anything like that. Been doing that for years since the Navy made me get up so damn early.

Confirmed, my 2011 also has a 120v in the console.

I think that is just in the Limited. My TEP has 120V, but it is only in the cargo area.

Well... I ... um... retract my statement. Just went out to get photographic proof and well I was wrong cig adapter. Don't know why I saw 120W and thought 120V never actually used it. Sorry about the misinformation.

Do you definitely want to permanently install it? You could just get a regular inverter and leave it under the passenger seat

*Note I do not condone shaving while driving, I assume it takes you under 2min to do a quick once over. Do it before sprinting out the door

I appreciate the honesty. :thumb3: I use that plug all the time to keep the mobile hotspot and my wife's phone charged.

I have an OLD version of this one that we have used for years. I store it under the passenger seat when not in use. It works really well!

yeah, i don't use mine a ton but so far no issues. i put on a strip of velcro so it doesn't slide around and just left it under the passenger seat. I plug it in behind the center console when i want to use it. when i bought mine it also came with clips so you can attach to the battery directly, looks like you have to buy those separate now. I used the clips a lot to charge stuff when camping without running the engine before i installed an always on outlet.

i'm pretty surprised though that the razor plugs in, i thought they were pretty much all battery powered. i can't imagine the razor requiring a lot of power (maybe 25 watts?) so pretty much any cheap inverter should work.

My shaver is battery powered, but I leave it in the vehicle. I've also got one inside.

you guys make it seem as though it takes concentration to use a electric razor, it's a mindless task that is no different than drinking coffee on your way to work.

I'll look into putting one under the passengers seat, if I go that route, I'll likely run the plug up inside the console for easy access.

have you checked to see if you can just get a 12v or usb cord for the charger?

i know my norelco travel case can be charged via USB
