12voltguy elocker harness/switch

I bought the elocker harness and switch of 12voltguy. The kit feels very nice quality. Howeve, the crimping skills are bad. I went to install the 2 connectors in the axle. and one The pins came out. Came to find out that this is very common. Although I don't think this should happen.

Anyways, I hooked everything up, and temporarily connected everything to the switch. And ran a 12v wire straight the battery. Connected the ground. Went to hit the switch. And got nothing. Now I'm not sure if the light indicator is supposed to light up right away or after it's locked.

Can someone confirm that the light is supposed to go ON once the switch is flipped. Or once the locker is locked.

Maybe it's a faulty switch. I'm not sure.... the locker should be good. Maybe bad ground.

Well that's disappointing.
It doesn't sound link a crimping issue though, because the wire didn't come out of the terminal- the pin came out of the connector- correct? OEM connectors have a double locking setup, and are not super easy to remove. I'm guessing he uses something other than an OEM connector?

Originally the wire just pulled out completely and the pin stayed lol. So I sent it back to get it fixed. But I think it's BS that it is two fragile lol. Anyway, my real concern is. When I hooked everything up temporarily, the light on the switch didn't come on. Now I'm not sure if the light comes on after the locker engages fully. Or if the light comes on right away once the switch is flipped.

12voltguy has no phone # contact. Which is frustrating. And hasn't replied to my emails.

Now I kinda regret not going with lowrange off road.

Anyone use 12voltguy elocker switch ?
 
The light likely comes on when it is fully engaged. I didn't use his kit, but I did something similar and that is how my switch works.

Did you try moving around, turning the wheel in drive/reverse after pressing the button? You also need to hold down the switch for a couple seconds and not just press it.

The motor engages a fork that slides over to lock in the axle. If it's not fully engaged it gets stuck in limbo until it all lines up. Which is why I suggest turning the wheel each direction while slowly driving forward and/or reverse.

this particular switch is a flip switch. And no i did not drive it around, i will try to flip it on and drive it and see what happens. Thanks for the tip

If it's in the garage/not driving, you can also jack either rear wheel/tire up, and spin it- you'll here a *snap* when it locks in.
That being said, you should hear the locker motor run when you flip the switch. The motor has to run before your locker will even potentially engage. The motor runs- spinning a worm gear- preloading a spring that allows the slide to lock the diff whenever it becomes aligned(hence the turning- that makes the rear tires to turn at different rates).
