'13 Interior - Metallic Silver Trim - Spray-Paint That Matches?

Hi all,

I have the Scosche dual-din radio dash kit for my '13 T4R SR5 (houses an Alpine INA-W910 Nav/DVD Head Unit). The dash-kit had a few blemishes when I got it (rubbed against the box/bag it shipped in), and it doesn't match my '13 T4R's factory silver trim verbatim.

I'd like to find some spray-paint that matches the '13's factory metallic silver trim as close as possible, and re-paint the Scosche dash-kit.

I'm not sure if the '13 T4R's might have a different "silver" dash color from previous model-years, but my factory silver interior parts are very metallic/sparkly - and the Scosche Dash-Kit is a bit flatter/matte and doesn't have anywhere near the "metallic shimmer" of the factory silver trim parts (in addition to the physical blemishes I'd like to address on the dash-kit).

Is there a good plastic trim spray-paint that closely matches a '13 T4R's highly-metallic silver trim pieces? Might I need a 2-step "base-coat + clear-coat" process to match the glossy silver metallic factory trim?

PS - I also plan on masking/painting the small detailed border on the Scosche dash kit (see bellow). I'm hoping it should make the dual-din Alpine Head-Unit appear a bit wider, and fill the rather large space abandoned by the factory radio and its non-standard knob placement (MUCH wider than DIN standards!).

Does anyone have a black paint suggestion for this application? Pics below:

I'll probably buy another Scosche dash-kit for experimentation - but it's "all for nil" if I can't find some spray paint that closely matches the metallic silver trim and some descent flat black for the accent...

Metallic Silver Trim

I'm hoping someone has a solution. This summer I was using the spray on sun tan lotion and it rubbed off my knees on the door handle, took the paint right off. Wonder what that does on your skin? I have called many paint companies and none offer interior paints.

If you're going to start painting, why not pull all of the silver parts off and spray them an entirely different color? I'd either try matching the exterior color, or do a contrasting color that stands out. It'd look pretty good.

As for paint, I use Krylon Fusion for plastics. I used it to paint the dash on my Tundra, and I've had no issues with it.

RE - Hellamatic: I'm not looking to re-spray all of the silver trim - I just want to match the aftermarket Scosche Dual-Din Dash-Kit to the remainder of the factory Metallic Silver Trim. I have the black interior with gray accents - so the factory silver fits well IMO (unlike other interior colors I've seen - which I would agree with you 100% on the silver trim looking VERY out-of-place!).

Does the Krylon Fusion have a Metallic Silver that CLOSELY MATCHES the factory Metallic Silver Trim? Will I need to clear-coat it to get the same "look" as the metallic silver trim panels that go around the A/C controls?

Also - Does anyone know if the '13's interior is more metallic or more glossy than previous year's silver trim? It seems like the Scosche kit should match the silver's "metallic shimmer" a bit better than it does (it's not horrible, just not exact) - so I'm suspecting it is a color-match for an earlier year (I was sold a "2012" double-din dash kit for my '13).

Lastly - Any opinions on the proposed "Black Accent" around the opening (see pics above)? I'm thinking it will make the opening left by the removal of the factory radio look a bit more proportioned to the remainder of the dash. And do you think a matte black or satin black would look good here?
