Can't help you on fitment, but FYI I ran ProComp steelies on my old ZJ, and in a few years the powdercoating was flaking off and they were rusting. Also, the center caps they come with are GARBAGE, if you do not clear coat them first, they'll be rusty within a month. I ended up waiting till mine were super rusty, then sanded them down and painted them gloss black to match the wheels. Looked much better than the chrome anyway.
Are those wheels hub centric or lug centric?
If I recall, they're lug-centric.Are those wheels hub centric or lug centric?

Just did a little recon - seems lug-centric.
So would the 8" give me any trouble? I have fender flares so sticking out wouldn't be too bad in my mind.
Oddly enough I laid out wheel and tire widths in CAD recently while trying to determine how my own wheels and tires will fit. I can't tell you whether or not it will rub but this should give you a close approximation of where the tire will sit.
The red line on the left side represents the outer face of the "limited" style fender flares, which your truck has. With that backspace and tire/wheel width it should sit almost perfectly flush. I'm not sure how clearance will be while turning, but I see lots of people run wheels that are flush like that. I'm actually doing 8" wheels with 285 tires myself.

So I had the wheels put on yesterday. They fit on the back but they couldn't clear the brake calipers on the front.
Really scratching my head on this one now. I also need to get a set of standard lugs - lugs w/o the flange that come on the stock aluminum wheels.
Any ideas?
Were they the series 51/52? I just ordered a set of those... Also for a 2001. Pretty sure I've seen other people running them?
I might preemptively order a couple of 1/4" spacers for the front if rubbing is possible.
Series 51 D-Window. I'm not sure why they're rubbing, but from what I'm learning spacers, no matter what size aren't a great idea. Won't pass safety inspection and they're not all that safe. Safety is an issue because the wheels are lug centric rather than hub centric. That means all of the pressure is now on the lugs. I was also told that the flanged lugs that came stock on my 4Runner would need to be replaced with standard lugs.
Nooga, Same answer as the other thread but hopefully u see it in either place:
Im going to take the passenger front off again and check for any rubbing. I couldn't see any grooves or scrapes on that caliper. If that one is clean then i know something is up with the driver side. Maybe just file down where the groove is forming on the caliper.
I also heard that the "adapter" style spacers are better than the normal spacers like I picked, but people say you have to consistently check the torque of the inner nuts and I also don't want that much offset from that style (1" or more). That also seems to be a lot of opinions with little actual instances of things actually going wrong?
