1986 Toyota 4runner SR% Sport Utility 2.4L 2366CC I4 Gas SOCH Tourbocharged

Hello 4runner enthusiasts,
I have a 86' 4runner 2.4L turbocharged sitting in a lot right now with a wrecked rear end and was looking for some insight on where or how to get it fixed, or even a possible trade or sell.
If anyone is interested please comment on the thread.
I am really hoping to fix it back to normal, but it is almost impossible to find a complete new body for the SUV.
The truck has a rebuilt motor and turbo from a toyota dealership in North Georgia, along with new tranny, small lift kit, 33 inch tires, warn locking hubs, original hard and soft tops, with a couple aftermarket accessories. I could use some help with finding a body or something similar to replace the wrecked one.
Please help......

Hey Truckguy,

Depending on the condition of the wrecked 4Runner, it might be a better plan to buy it as a parts donor and move the good stuff to an unwrecked body/frame.

Or, part out the wrecked vehicle, selling the parts separately.

The 4runner is still drive able and has many rebuilt parts into it that have minimum mileage. It is basically the rear body and tailgate that are wrecked. I have a new tail gate but just need something to repair the quarter panels and taillights and other little bits.

without photos it's tough to help, but I see several options.

you could "bob" it. Lot's of folks do it anyway to help with departure angle.

or just pick up another complete truck with a seized motor or something for $1000 and do a total body swap. Only 4 bolts and a big hoist or forklift could get it done.



Much easier than swapping everything else, if you have the means.
