I have a 1990 4cyl (22RE) standard transmission 4Runner. I have invested in a proper floor jack and want to make certain I am jacking the vehicle at the best spots. The manual notes the jack points as Front - under the front suspension cross member and Back - under the rear axle housing. However, I can't really jack it up there and then get a jack stand in place at the same spot. Would someone with some knowledge/experience with regards to this advise me where I should be jacking up the front and/or the back of this vehicle with a floor jack so that I can then put the jack stands in place. I have read some say that at the back jack it up on the center of the rear axle housing (right on the differential I assume) - is this proper/safe? I much appreciate recommendations from the experts on this forum. Thank you so much.
