1993 sunroof problem

So i just got a 93 with a sunroof (and i searched some other posts). When i push the switch to open the glass it does not do anything, No noise or anything. But when i push the switch to retract the glass i can hear the motor running.


Not this isn't a huge deal considering that its snowing as of right now but im a guy that needs projects.....


And the other reason i am posting this is i need a couple parts.....

Driver mirror (power)
gray steering wheel with cruse control

I think thats it right now.

i would looking into the switch 1st, maybe a poor contact at the switch. it helps to have a wiring diagram so you can just apply power to the motor to see if it works both ways if so than you can rule out motor and look at connections and switch

So i was searching on google and some of the 3rd gen guys where saying that they reset the sunroofs by unplugging the battery... is there something like this for the 2nd gen?

give it a try. unplug it for a few minutes.

You where right. I need a new switch but i got it open and closed no problem. I called the steeler ship and they wanted $102.99 for it! EDIT found it here for $50 http://www.toyotapartszone.com/oem/toyota~switch~assy~sliding~roof~84860-35010.html
