Sweet build! Definitely how I see mine turning out until I can afford to dive down the SAS rabbit hole. It's also awesome to see you're getting some solid gas mileage out of your 3.0 :bigok:

Thanks Danny. Yeah the whole gas mileage thing has been the biggest surprise of this whole build. If I dropped down to 31’s I could probably break 20! I am pretty happy with the way the build turned out. Some days I look at it and want more stance-12.5” wide tires and offset rims or wheel spacers.

I think second phase of this build will be land cruiser coils in the rear, and it’s a toss up with what happens up front. I’ve read a lot about the blazeland long travel kits, and since it’s such a daily I am leaning towards that option more than an SAS at this point.

Hey Chazz thanks! The awning is a Tepui. 6x6 deployed, bought it through REi and had it delivered to my local store. ARB also makes a nice one that I was leaning towards, but this one had the right price with a discount.

I just like the stance mostly, and the fact that you can retain some comfort on the road. This rig is mostly a long distance thing so I don’t need the toughness a SAS brings. Plus all the sas kits I found are 4” or higher, I don’t want that much lift. I agree with more maintenance though, it would be easier to keep a solid axle in good condition. Thanks for sharing your perspective!

No problem! Yeah, the maintenance isn't hard, just frequent. It's definitely comfy tho!

:thumb3: Cheapy 20" amazon lightbar (with one random yellow led node), two VisionX 4" light cannons, hooked up to a OEM toyota fog switch in the cab, in the punch next to the clutch-start/cancel.

Basically just found the center of the bumper, put the bar there and marked two holes for the mounts, drill and bolt with the hardware it came with. After that was on did the same thing with the spotlights. I should have mounted them further forward on the bumper because I can’t quite adjust them high enough to shoot down the road.

Ended up that my rigid 20" bar leftover from my tacoma won't fit without modifying the grill. The heatsink is too big. Used the smaller rounded tabs for ditch light mounts. Guess I'll have to wait to get a new bumper to install the rigid bar. Not a bad purchase for $8 though lol.

Yeah my lightbar actually came with mounting brackets, I think they all basically do when you buy them new. I can take some pictures tomorrow for you to show some measurements and spacing and such.

Okay Keaton and Curse, here ya go.. Not sure what you guys were actually looking for. It's all pretty straightforward drill and bolt stuff. I have about 1 1/4" between the grill and my lightbar housing. If I had to do it over I would have moved my fogs just 1/4" forward to be able to angle them up a touch more, right now they basically ride on the grill. Ill eventually go to some different armor up front so it doesn't bother me too bad, works decent as is.

Nice. Your light bar is pretty thin. There is no way I'm getting my rigid on my stock bumper unless I start cutting the grill. Guess that is another excuse for getting a new front bumper. :thumb:

Got around to installing some mudflaps I picked up at a local truck supply store, also rigged up a rack to take off the RTT easily, so it's currently off until I need it. Some recent pictures:

Headed out to go commercial fishing for the summer this week, but had some pretty big developments with the truck.

First of all, I trust the tent at highway speeds now, been on a few trips and its worked great. I need to invest in an anti-condensation mat, there is condensation under the mattress on some mornings.

I played with my timing just because I was bored and completely ****ed up. The last fillup I had on the 33's broke 21, then I messed with advancing the timing. It didn't do anything for me, so I turned it back to where it was.. and dropped down to 16 mpg again. I am guessing the computer needs time to reset, I'm hoping that it won't take 7000 miles again...

Trucks running good, burns a little oil - I don't think I seated the rings well enough, and I am not so sure I haven't missed the window where I can re-seat them.

Bought my old truck back and stole the powder coated Sr5 rims, trail gear front and rear bumpers, CB, and winch. Heres some pictures!

Drove the stickers off a brand new set of 32x11.5x15 STT Pro's today. Measuring a true 31.5 my speedo is dead on, they are quiet, smooth and generally knobby as f***. The 11.5 on the stock sr5 rims has a fantastic stance and I have good clearance (so far) at all four corners.
