OK, I have researched this topic on Google and I do not think it's electrical nor requires reset. The threads I found don't seem to mimic my specific symptoms nor how the problem occurred so I can fix it.
Here goes: I was driving and had a fly as a unwelcomed passenger, so being type A I decided to lower all windows including the rear tailgate window and eject the little bugger. Prior to this event, no issues with the rear wiper nor the defrost nor the rear tailgate window going up or down. So the first time the window went down and then back up, I noticed it appeared to slowdown, more than normal, in the last few inches to full close but it closed regardless. A minute later I noticed the unwelcomed passenger was still aboard (sic.......). So I did it again including winding down the tailgate window fully for a minute and then backup. This time I clearly noticed the tailgate window struggle to close in the last few inches but it did.
My type A personality then kicked into full gear (sic......
), of course! I thought hummmm, I'll just retract it completely and then close it fully again in case it just needed a reset, well...........problem hastened. The window fully retracted but would only come up an inch to an inch and a half but was actually level. So I pulled over and decided to use the rear lock to see if I could resolve the issue and actually close the tailgate window. All this while I am travelling "with woman now giving me the evil eye"....and rain is in the forecast (of course).
I'll cut to the chase, during the remainder of the journey, no real change except maybe a bump or two/three seemed to affect the window to the point where the rear window motor side AKA passenger side now goes up about 5-6 inches and stops while the tension spring side AKA driver still only goes up approximately an inch or so and stops the entire window. I tried lifting the glass while powering up but to no avail.
I opened her up today after researching some threads but none seem to address my specific issue which could be track derailment or a stuck gear that I can't see from the top off the window gate nor the interior.
Is there a way i can manually get this beast to go up until I can figure out WTH is the problem?
