1998 T4R with RS3000 Alarm Help.

I just bought a 1998 SR5 It has the remote fob and the brain box (under the seat) for the Dealer installed RS3000 alarm system. I am attempting to program the remote that came with it, but, as simple as it should be it is not working.

On a side note, the instructions refer to a security light (the little red light on the dash) this truck does not have the light.

Please see instructions below for reprogramming this system, and tell me what you think it may be. Also if you have a 3rd gen and do not have these instructions, you may want to print a copy of these adn stick them in your owners manual.

anyone know why i would not have the light, and if that may be whats stopping me.

12-43 on last.

I found the light, it is by the e-brake. however the system is not responding even when the program button is pressed. Does anyone know a way to check the brain box.

Okay, one last post on the matter. I pulled the brain box and i noticed a massive amount of copper-sulfate built up on 3 solders. I cleaned the board and reassembled the box.

BAM it works perfect.

I believe it was on the dash on 2000+ models.

Mine is next to the e-brake. but from what i gather only the RS3000 has the light and sensor in the center console. It give 3 locations for the brain box as possibilities. Under seat, Behind drivers kick panel, and under carpet....

I have a entire new problem. After about an hour of this thing working perfectly, now the alarm goes off about 10 seconds after i lock the doors, every time. I have no idea what it could be now. BAD ECM?????

Try turning off the passive arming and see that helps anything. Mine would go off constantly with the passive arming activated.

If this take care of it, it could possibly be any of the door or hood sensors?
