Hey jump, im here in portland as well. When i was looking for my t4r, i found that the key is you have be watching craigs like a hawk, and be ready to pounce at a moments notice. Demand is very high, not just from end users, but from resellers as well.
I found that once posted they would be gone within hours, sometimes even minutes. Literally, im not exagerating. Id call an hour old posting to find it already sold.
So for me it took about 6 weeks, id be checking craigs like every 10 minutes, and i probably looked at 15 before i found a clean one. And thats not even highlander, lockers, super low miles, etc. just a clean 4x at a decent price.
So yes, theyre rare, but if youre not checking every few minutes theyre prol posting up, selling, and delisting before you even know it.
My advice, prepare for the long haul, monitor cl wiht tenacity, be ready to ho at a seconds notice, and be patient. I have a an app on my iphone, (cpro craigslist client) that you can set up notifications, you might look into that.
Also, i looked at a lot of shady rigs from a lot of shady sellers in my quest, so be very careful and know what to look for.
