1999 Toyota 4runner lift

I'm wanting a 2"-4" lift on my 1999 t4r. I'm in highschool, so as cheap as possible. But still a nice looking lift. And won't destroy my car. I will only be on roads with this. No off-road. I just want it to look nice with a lift. What are my options? And best recommendations?

price is something im looking at too, and i decided recently im just gonna get the daystars 2.5" lift kit. its like ~$150 for the kit. not to bad esp for the price and for road-driving.

Yeah, for real cheap, a spacer lift is about all you will get. If you are patient you can troll ebay, CL, and the forums for some LC coils and shocks for the rear, and maybe some tundra TRD coilovers for the front, but to get in your price range you will probably need to be pretty patient.

My recommendation you won't like. Don't get a spacer lift. If you are just mall crawling and road driving, why raise the center of gravity? I know it looks cool and you want to impress the ladies and all (hey, we were all in high school once), but I don't like spending money to make my vehicle worse.

I would troll for cheap used suspension lift parts. Search here and Yotatech for the list of parts you will need, and then be patient. Consider yourself lucky that you get to drive a sweet 4runner in highschool; I had to drive a dodge caravan.

dont do it man. when u put on ur lift..ur gunna realize u need some big beefy tires to go along with it..and u can't do big beefy tires with some nice wheels..and it just goes from there.

I was in the same boat as you with my lift budget but spacers in the rear are not cutting it, I'm going to get some 890 coils because the spacers bottom out the shocks or something it just doesn't feel right going over bumps lol. Spacers in the front are okay I guess. I would definitely consider this lift kit.

Right now I have the 2.5" Day Star spacer kit, gonna take out the spacers in the rear on my stock coils and get these.

If you don't want to spend too much, a spacer lift for the front and OME 890 coils for the rear would be a good option. Going with spacers for the rear would be cheaper, but the ride will probably be bad, assuming that your 12 year old rear coils are shot already.

Consider a body lift first

4crawler.com sells body lifts and I recommend him as a seller.

It may give you all the lift you need at significantly less cost.

As with all lifts do your homework extensively first.

Just make sure you install the body lift yourself, it's really easy. A shop is going to charge you ~$700.
