finally got 285/75/16 tires!

built a sleeping platform/sub box/tool box for the back of the 4runner. also built another piece to put in the middle when seats are folded down. piece sitting on top is what goes on top of middle seats.

here is how the car currently sits with 3" lift and 285s next to a stock 4runner. At this point I have also installed a radar detector, PA system, bunch of interior LED lights, new windshield, ISR mod, deck plate mod, 1" diff drop, and new custom fit leatherette seat covers.

then the worst happened... I tipped it on its side, I was devastated. I was on my way back to school in Reno, Nevada during an awful storm and when I passed a semi truck and got clear of his roost there was a vehicle stopped in front of me. I swerved into the slow lane and my 4runner slid sideways when i tried to continue in the lane, my rear tires hopped a 6" curb on the edge of the highway and put my on its side. The important part is that nobody was hurt and the car is fixable.

the damage was pretty extensive however, mechanically the 4runner was still solid! started right up for me with no issues, no bent frame or anything. there was only one option for me. time to do a complete body swap. i did my research and found some information on what was needed to complete this task. after about two weeks i found the perfect donor vehicle. a 1999 limited edition with 210k miles and a very clean body, it was a 3.4 4x4 with and automatic transmission. the only known issue was that the timing belt was making a funny noise, i ended up paying $1000 for the whole rig.

here is my current progress. i got my frame under the new body and everything hooked up except the clutch because i ran out of time. the body swap to this point took two days and now i am waiting for some new exciting parts to come in the mail to wrap it all up.

Got the 4runner running today with the new body, also installed a 2" body lift.
