1st 4runner

Picked her up this morning and haven't stopped driving it, backing it up, repositioning it in the garage, and just sitting inside it reading the manual.

I've wanted one since I was 16 when the 3rd gen's first came out. Finally able to afford one and I hope to keep it running for 20+ years.

Same here - Read the manual cover-to-cover while sitting in her upon driving home from the dealership! Fun stuff :)

The Perma-grin will last a week or so, and then becomes a stealth perma-grin that still sneaks out after washing or waxing. I still take great pride every time I turn the key - and I'm over 70K miles! I'm sure you will, too.

You WILL get a few dings and crap - The obsession over them slowly fades with time, but the first few blemishes really suck. I'm over that part by now. My first paint scrape was self-inflicted in the first week of ownership, followed by a nice door ding a few weeks later. Now, I'll park anywhere, but still take great pride in my ride...

Great taste! I have the same but with redwood interior.

My wife dented the passenger side running board a couple weeks after we got it (on a frozen snow bank). I count three door dings so far. The price we pay for living in the big city and driving it daily on our commute, I suppose. Oh well, just enjoy it!

The perma-grin is in full effect! Selecting parking spaces in downtown Atlanta has been a challenge for sure.

I've heard nothing but great things about these trucks and can immediately see the appeal of owning one! We're heading to the lake this weekend to let her get some fresh air and will POSSIBLY go on a wide, navigable, fairly conservative trail (for a minute).
 
UGH. I can relate to city driving and how everyone seems to want to pull in front of me or get way too close while I'm driving it.

My wife and I are constantly wondering who will be the first one to dent it.
 
Super cool man! I totally understand. I've been looking for one for a long time and now that I have the money I just can't find that Pro anywhere! On the phone right now holding for a sales manager in another state...

Feels good for dreams to come true!
 
Congrats man. If you take care of them, 4Runners are bullet-proof and I'd stack them up and take the Pepsi Challenge with them against any other vehicle made.
